    Der Artikel geht auf die Darstellung des kulturellen Engagements des Grafen Albert Joseph Hoditz (1706 - 1778) ein, das im Rosswalder Schloss und in dessen Garten entwickelt wurde. Die Rosswalder Gartenlandschaft wird im Bezug auf die europäische Literaturgeschichte vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus spiegelt sie künstlerische Interessen des Grafen Albert Joseph Hoditz wider und weist auf die Phänomenalität dieses an der Peripherie liegenden Dominiums hin. The article deals with cultural activities of Count Albert Joseph Hodic, who has built around his castle in Slezské Rudoltice a sentimental garden. This garden landscape was not only a space for artistic inspiration, but it was also the site of frequent visits of Hodic's guests and travelers from all over Europe. The garden also reflects the artistic interests of Count Hodic and his literary perspective. The objective of this study is the literary affinity for this place. Attention is also paid to the reflection of the themes in literary works of this aristocrat.

    Dějiny šlechtického rodu Lichnowských otevírají vhled do evropského kulturního panoramatu od poslední čtvrtiny 18. století až do konce první poloviny 20. století. Členové této knížecí rodiny se proslavili nejen svou vlastní literární a hudební tvorbou, ale také kulturními kontakty se soudobými umělci. Taktéž biografie kněžny Mechtildy Lichnowské (1879–1958) je protkána přátelstvími s německy a anglicky píšícími autory, hudebními skladateli a v neposlední řadě soudobými malíři. Předložená studie navazuje na dlouhodobý výzkum zabývající se fenomenální kulturní kontinuitou šlechtického rodu Lichnowských a přibližuje kontakty kněžny Mechtildy Lichnowské a Hugo von Hofmannsthala. Přátelství obou autorů bylo formováno jejich literárními a hudebními zájmy, jež ovlivňovaly vzájemnou, umělecky podnětnou výměnu názoru. Reflexe dramatické tvorby Hugo von Hofmannsthala a obraz jejich několika setkání, zachycený ve vzájemné korespondenci, doplňují mozaiku informací o literární tvorbě, kontaktech, názorech a uměleckém vývoji obou spisovatelů. The history of the noble family of Lichnowsky provides an insight into the European cultural panorama from the last quarter of the 18th century to the mid-20th century. The Lichnowskys were renowned not only for their own literary and musical achievements, but also for their contacts with many leading artists of the time. Mechtilda Lichnowsky (1879–1958) cultivated many friendships with authors (writing in German and English), composers, and contemporary painters. This paper draws on previous research on the phenomenal cultural continuity of the family, and describes in detail the contacts between Mechtilda Lichnowsky and Hugo von Hofmannsthal. The friendship between these two authors was forged through their literary and musical interests and their artistically stimulating exchange of views. The paper outlines von Hofmannsthal’s dramatic works and paints a portrait of the meetings between Lichnowsky and von Hofmannsthal as captured in their correspondence, giving further insight into the literary works, contacts, opinions and artistic development of both authors.
