    The friendly relationship between the renowned Munich doctor Wilhelm Schenk von Stauffenberg and the Austrian author Hugo von Hofmannsthal can be viewed in terms of the writer's life and work. This study traces the contacts between the two men, describes their shared interests and shows how Hofmannsthal planned to depict Stauffenberg in his works. These issues are viewed against the background of Stauffenberg's and Hofmannsthal's friendship with Countess Mechtilde Lichnowsky, who introduced the two men in 1909; the paper traces the mutual contacts until Stauffenberg's death in 1918.

    The study deals with the contacts between Princess Mechtilde Lichnowsky and the Prague German writer Franz Werfel in the years 1913–1914. The author outlines the friendly relationship between Mechtilde and Werfel, sketching the social and biographical background on the eve of World War I. In this context, attention is paid not only to Mechtilde Lichnowsky's drama "Ein Spiel vom Tod", but also to its reception by Werfel, by other authors, and not least by the contemporary press.

    Der Artikel geht auf die Darstellung des kulturellen Engagements des Grafen Albert Joseph Hoditz (1706 - 1778) ein, das im Rosswalder Schloss und in dessen Garten entwickelt wurde. Die Rosswalder Gartenlandschaft wird im Bezug auf die europäische Literaturgeschichte vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus spiegelt sie künstlerische Interessen des Grafen Albert Joseph Hoditz wider und weist auf die Phänomenalität dieses an der Peripherie liegenden Dominiums hin. The article deals with cultural activities of Count Albert Joseph Hodic, who has built around his castle in Slezské Rudoltice a sentimental garden. This garden landscape was not only a space for artistic inspiration, but it was also the site of frequent visits of Hodic's guests and travelers from all over Europe. The garden also reflects the artistic interests of Count Hodic and his literary perspective. The objective of this study is the literary affinity for this place. Attention is also paid to the reflection of the themes in literary works of this aristocrat.
