    The following article aims to discuss the ground vocabulary of Freudian Metapsychology, beyond the conception of a simple and stiff collection of technique terms. Facing the fact that Freud was a brilliant writer and a keen explorer of the resources provided by the German language, we intend to demonstrate some distortions his vocabulary and style underwent after its passage through internationally influent translations into English and French. Therefore, since recently his work went into the public domain and finally it begins to be directly translated into Portuguese, it is a capital challenge to Freud´s translators in Brazil to recover the lifelike face of his words not disregarding the accuracy of his propositions. O presente artigo objetiva uma discussão sobre o vocabulário fundamental da Metapsicologia freudiana, para além da concepção de um simples e estanque agrupado de termos técnicos. Levando-se também em consideração o fato de que Freud foi um escritor brilhante e um perspicaz explorador dos recursos oferecidos pela língua alemã, é nossa intenção demonstrar certas distorções de seu estilo e vocabulário sofridas após ter passado por traduces internacionalmente influentes para as línguas inglesa e francesa. Logo, com a recente entrada da obra freudiana para o domínio público, esta finalmente passou a ser traduzida diretamente para o português, tornando-se atualmente um desafio fundamental aos tradutores brasileiros de Freud recuperar a vivacidade de suas palavras sem deixar de levar em consideração a acuidade de suas proposições.

    The father-son relationship has long been a cornerstone of psychoanalytic research. This article examines one such relationship, as present in Joseph Roth's novel "Zipper and His Father" ("Zipper und sein Vater", 1928), in the relevant historical and psycho-social context. Tracing a parallel between the fatherly figure of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor, Franz Joseph, and Arnold Zipper's father, as well as drawing upon the narrator's (and Roth's own) personal experience, the article presents an analysis of the importance of the fatherly figure and the devastating consequences of its absence. A relação pai-filho é uma das pedras angulares da pesquisa psicanalítica. Este artigo examina tal relação, assim como se apresenta no romance "Zipper und sein Vater" (1928, "Zipper e seu pai"), de Joseph Roth, em um contexto histórico e psicossocial relevante. Traçando um paralelo entre a figural paternal do Imperador Austro-Húngaro, Franz Joseph, e o pai de Arnold Zipper, e valendo-se da experiência pessoal do narrador (e do próprio Roth), o artigo apresenta uma análise da importância da figura e as consequências devastadoras de sua ausência.

    The objective of this text is to analyze the stranger's experience in the novel "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge" by Rainer Maria Rilke through new interpretation perspectives based, for example, on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theories. Living in a foreign metropolis (Paris), which he does not identify with yet, the novel's protagonist, Malte Laurids Brigge, discovers a new inner world through his shock with stranger's experiences in this environment. The revelation of his childhood memories and his ego projection through readings of narratives by others are his methods to search and assert his identity. O objetivo deste texto é analisar a experiência do estranho no romance "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge", de Rainer Maria Rilke, através de novas perspectivas de interpretação apoiadas, por exemplo, nas teorias psicanalíticas de Sigmund Freud. Vivendo em uma cidade estrangeira (Paris), com a qual ainda não se identifica, o protagonista do romance, Malte Laurids Brigge, descobre um mundo interior novo através de seu choque com experiências do estranho nesse milieu. A revelação de recordações de sua infância e a projeção de seu ego em leituras de narrativas alheias são seus métodos para buscar e afirmar sua identidade.

    This article approaches the ambivalent relations between Musil and Freud. It proceeds in three sections. The first analises the spontaneous psychoanalytical intuitions Musil exposes in his first novel, "The confusions of young Törless". The psychological insights of the novelist accompany and also anticipate the discoveries of the father of psychoanalysis. The second section exposes the seminal studies of Corino and Henninger (among other authors) who see Musil's reserved attitude towards Freud as a symptomatic resistence and interpret the unconscious determination of his work. The third exposes other reasons (aesthetic and theoretical arguments) which explain the author's reluctance, without excluding the resistencetheory. ... Este artigo sobre as relações ambivalentes entre Musil e Freud procede em três etapas. Na primeira, analisamos as intuições psicanalíticas de Musil no seu primeiro romance, "O jovem Törless". Os 'insights' psicológicos do romancista acompanham e antecipam as descobertas clínicas do pai da Psicanálise. A segunda se debruça sobre os trabalhos seminais (Corino, Henninger, entre outros) que veem as reservas de Musil diante de Freud como resistências sintomáticas e evidenciam a determinação inconsciente de sua obra. A terceira expõe outras razões (estéticas e teóricas) para a reserva do artista. Estas não excluem, mas se adicionam às resistências sintomáticas. ...

    Während die Relevanz von Patientenerzählungen und therapeutischen Deutungen für den Therapieprozess viel diskutiert wird, wird den therapeutischen Fragen weniger Beachtung geschenkt. In diesem Artikel wird dafür argumentiert, therapeutische Fragen als potenziell veränderungsrelevante Verfahren der gemeinsamen Konstruktion von Erzählungen zu betrachten. Therapeutische Fragen sind maieutisch ausgerichtet, das heißt sie regen den Patienten an, von sich aus die Erzählung zu expandieren und dabei zu psychologisch relevanten Deutungen des Erzählten zu gelangen. Therapeuten scheinen in ihren Reaktionen auf Patientenerzählungen der Präferenzreihenfolge Produktion von Continuern (Fortsetzungssignalen) Schweigen Fragen Deuten zu folgen. Sie greifen also erst zur selbstproduzierten Deutung, wenn der Patient von sich aus keine produziert. Diese Präferenzreihenfolge der Therapeutenreaktionen reflektiert eine Präferenz für die Selbstdeutung des Patienten, die maieutisch, das heißt durch sokratisches Fragen, unterstützt wird.

    In diesem Artikel wird aus einer konservationsanalytischer Perspektive untersucht, wie in der letzten Stunde der psychoanalytischen Behandlung »Amalie« die Aufgabe des Abschiednehmens interaktiv thematisiert und ausgehandelt wird. Anhand von drei zentralen Interaktionssequenzen wird rekonstruiert, wie die Patientin den Abschied systematisch de-thematisiert. Sie benutzt unterschiedliche Verfahren der Selbstpositioniernng und der Fremdpositionierung des Therapeuten zur Legitimierung ihrer Verweigerung der Bearbeitung und zur Negierung der Relevanz des Abschieds. Darüber hinaus löst sie die Aufgabe des Abschieds, indem sie ihn symbolisch aufhebt durch die Behauptung einer mentalen Verschmelzung mit dem Therapeuten, die den bevorstehenden Verlust der Realbeziehung irrelevant mache.

    Psychological research has emphasized the importance of narrative for a person’s sense of self. Building a coherent narrative of past events is one objective of psychotherapy. However, in guided self-help therapy the patient has to develop this narrative autonomously. Identifying patients’ narrative skills in relation to psychological distress could provide useful information about their suitability for self-help. The aim of this study was to explore whether the syntactic integration of clauses into narrative in texts written by prospective psychotherapy patients was related to mild to moderate psychological distress. Cross-clausal syntax of texts by 97 people who had contacted a primary care mental health service was analyzed. Severity of symptoms associated with mental health difficulties was assessed by a standardized scale (Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation outcome measure). Cross-clausal syntactic integration was negatively correlated with the severity of symptoms. A multiple regression analysis confirmed that the use of simple sentences, finite complement clauses, and coordinated clauses was associated with symptoms (R2 = .26). The results suggest that the analysis of cross-clausal syntax can provide information on patients’ narrative skills in relation to distressing events and can therefore provide additional information to support treatment decisions.

    Sigmund Freud'un psikanaliz kuramını felsefi açıdan yeniden temellendiren psikiyatr Jacques-Marie Emile Lacan, 13 Nisan 1901'de doğduğu Paris'te 9 Eylül 1981 yılında ölmüştür. Bilinçdışının dil gibi yapılandığı görüşünden hareket eden ve yapısalcı dilbiliminden yararlanan Lacan, Freud'un psikanalitik kuramından yola çıksa da Freud'un bilinçdışında aradığı öznenin psişik yapısını, dış gerçeklikteki öteki ile bağıntılı olarak ele almıştır. Bunun sonucunda insanın bilinçdışı tarafından şekillendirildiğine değil, aksine bilinçdışının insanın içinde bulunduğu dış gerçeklik tarafından biçimlendirildiği görüşünü dile getirmiştir. Kısacası imgesel, sembolik ve gerçek olmak üzere doğası gereği bölünmüş haldeki insan psişesinin bütün unsurlarının dış dünyadaki bir ötekinin / Ötekinin bakışı altında dönüşüme uğradığını, bütün psikolojik sorunların temelinde yatanın da özne ile öteki arasındaki gerilim olduğunu ileri sürmüştür. Biz de bu çalışmamızda Lacanyen psikanalizin bahsi geçen unsurlarını ve psişik öznenin geçirdiği üç dönemi (imgesel, sembolik ve gerçek) ele alacağız. Bu teorik bilgilerin ardından Marie Luise Kaschnitz'in kısa öyküsü "Kuş Rock" taki kuş imgesini Lacanyen psikanalizmin bu bilgileri ışığında metne bağlı inceleme yöntemi ile inceleyeceğiz. Öznenin Ayna Evresi ile başlayan ve benliğini bütünleştirmek uğruna girdiği ötekileşme ve Ötekileşme süreçlerinin eserdeki izdüşümlerini tespit etme girişiminde bulunacağız. ; Psychiatrist Jacques-Marie Emile Lacan, who philosophically reaffirmed Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, was born in Paris on April 13, 1901 and died there on September 9, 1981.     Seit seinem Erscheinen im Jahr 1919 stand das 'Tagebuch eines halbwüchsigen Mädchens' im Zentrum des öffentlichen Interesses. Die Aufzeichnungen, die von der zunächst anonym bleibenden Herausgeberin, der Wiener Kinder-Analytikerin Hermine Hug-Hellmuth, als "Kulturdenkmal unserer Zeit" präsentiert und von Sigmund Freud als kulturhistorisches Dokument ersten Ranges gewürdigt wurden, erwiesen sich nur wenige Jahre nach ihrer Publikation als Werk der Analytikerin selbst. Dass das Tagebuch als 'authentisches' Zeugnis so erfolgreich war - bereits in den ersten Jahren wurden 10.000 Exemplare verkauft - und sich als Fälschung so wirksam entfalten konnte, hatte mit seinem spezifischen kulturellen und wissenschaftlichen Umfeld zu tun. Denn Hug-Hellmuth war nicht nur fest in die psychoanalytische Bewegung eingebunden, auch hatte sie sich in dem im Entstehen begriffenen kinderpsychoanalytischen Diskurs der 1910er Jahre bereits einen Namen gemacht - und so die für eine Fälschung unabdingbaren Qualifikationen erworben. Vor allem aber lag die Durchschlagskraft des Tagebuchs in seiner wissenschaftsinternen Bedeutung: Versprach es doch, als gleichsam verschriftlichter 'Originalton', Freuds Theorie von der kindlichen und adoleszenten Sexualität sowie deren Bedeutung für die Ätiologie der Neurosen zu belegen und somit eine der wichtigsten Hypothesen der Psychoanalyse auf empirische Grundlagen zu stellen. So sollte das intime Jugendtagebuch, das sich schon qua Genre als 'unverfälschte' und unverstellte Selbstaussage präsentierte, den lang ersehnten Einblick in die Blackbox der adoleszenten Seele ermöglichen, jenen psychischen Raum also, der sich der pädagogischen Kontrolle ebenso wie der auf Erwachsene eingestellten Psychoanalyse entzog.

    The following article aims to discuss the ground vocabulary of Freudian Metapsychology, beyond the conception of a simple and stiff collection of technique terms. Facing the fact that Freud was a brilliant writer and a keen explorer of the resources provided by the German language, we intend to demonstrate some distortions his vocabulary and style underwent after its passage through internationally influent translations into English and French. Therefore, since recently his work went into the public domain and finally it begins to be directly translated into Portuguese, it is a capital challenge to Freud´s translators in Brazil to recover the lifelike face of his words not disregarding the accuracy of his propositions. ; O presente artigo objetiva uma discussão sobre o vocabulário fundamental da Metapsicologia freudiana, para além da concepção de um simples e estanque agrupado de termos técnicos. Levando-se também em consideração o fato de que Freud foi um escritor brilhante e um perspicaz explorador dos recursos oferecidos pela língua alemã, é nossa intenção demonstrar certas distorções de seu estilo e vocabulário sofridas após ter passado por traduces internacionalmente influentes para as línguas inglesa e francesa. Logo, com a recente entrada da obra freudiana para o domínio público, esta finalmente passou a ser traduzida diretamente para o português, tornando-se atualmente um desafio fundamental aos tradutores brasileiros de Freud recuperar a vivacidade de suas palavras sem deixar de levar em consideração a acuidade de suas proposições.

    The father-son relationship has long been a cornerstone of psychoanalytic research. This article examines one such relationship, as present in Joseph Roth's novel "Zipper and His Father" ("Zipper und sein Vater", 1928), in the relevant historical and psycho-social context. Tracing a parallel between the fatherly figure of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor, Franz Joseph, and Arnold Zipper's father, as well as drawing upon the narrator's (and Roth's own) personal experience, the article presents an analysis of the importance of the fatherly figure and the devastating consequences of its absence. ; A relação pai-filho é uma das pedras angulares da pesquisa psicanalítica. Este artigo examina tal relação, assim como se apresenta no romance "Zipper und sein Vater" (1928, "Zipper e seu pai"), de Joseph Roth, em um contexto histórico e psicossocial relevante. Traçando um paralelo entre a figural paternal do Imperador Austro-Húngaro, Franz Joseph, e o pai de Arnold Zipper, e valendo-se da experiência pessoal do narrador (e do próprio Roth), o artigo apresenta uma análise da importância da figura e as consequências devastadoras de sua ausência.

    This article aims to investigate the correlation of thought between three leading names in the second half of the nineteenth century – Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud and Hugo von Hofmannsthal – that have addressed the crisis of male identity against the return of matriarchy. Considering the Vienna fin-de-siècle as a backdrop, female is presented here through Electra, a mythical heroine. In Hofmannsthal's homonymous play, she represents not only strengthening as the woman's own destruction. ; Este artigo tem por objetivo investigar a correlação de pensamento entre três importantes nomes da segunda metade do século XIX – Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud e Hugo von Hofmannsthal – que se debruçaram sobre as crises da identidade masculina frente ao retorno do matriarcado. Tendo a Viena fin-de-siècle como cenário, o feminino é apresentado aqui por intermédio de Electra, que no texto homônimo de Hofmannsthal representa não só o fortalecimento como a própria destruição da mulher.

    The objective of this text is to analyze the stranger's experience in the novel "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge" by Rainer Maria Rilke through new interpretation perspectives based, for example, on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theories. Living in a foreign metropolis (Paris), which he does not identify with yet, the novel's protagonist, Malte Laurids Brigge, discovers a new inner world through his shock with stranger's experiences in this environment. The revelation of his childhood memories and his ego projection through readings of narratives by others are his methods to search and assert his identity. ; O objetivo deste texto é analisar a experiência do estranho no romance "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge", de Rainer Maria Rilke, através de novas perspectivas de interpretação apoiadas, por exemplo, nas teorias psicanalíticas de Sigmund Freud. Vivendo em uma cidade estrangeira (Paris), com a qual ainda não se identifica, o protagonista do romance, Malte Laurids Brigge, descobre um mundo interior novo através de seu choque com experiências do estranho nesse milieu. A revelação de recordações de sua infância e a projeção de seu ego em leituras de narrativas alheias são seus métodos para buscar e afirmar sua identidade.

    This article approaches the ambivalent relations between Musil and Freud. It proceeds in three sections. The first analises the spontaneous psychoanalytical intuitions Musil exposes in his first novel, "The confusions of young Törless". The psychological insights of the novelist accompany and also anticipate the discoveries of the father of psychoanalysis. The second section exposes the seminal studies of Corino and Henninger (among other authors) who see Musil's reserved attitude towards Freud as a symptomatic resistence and interpret the unconscious determination of his work. The third exposes other reasons (aesthetic and theoretical arguments) which explain the author's reluctance, without excluding the resistencetheory. Musil has a vast scientific and mathematical, philosophical and aesthetic framework of references which differs from psychoanalysis. It emerges in his project which underpins the novels "Nupcias" (Musil's second work after "Törless"). ; Este artigo sobre as relações ambivalentes entre Musil e Freud procede em três etapas. Na primeira, analisamos as intuições psicanalíticas de Musil no seu primeiro romance, "O jovem Törless". Os 'insights' psicológicos do romancista acompanham e antecipam as descobertas clínicas do pai da Psicanálise. A segunda se debruça sobre os trabalhos seminais (Corino, Henninger, entre outros) que veem as reservas de Musil diante de Freud como resistências sintomáticas e evidenciam a determinação inconsciente de sua obra. A terceira expõe outras razões (estéticas e teóricas) para a reserva do artista. Estas não excluem, mas se adicionam às resistências sintomáticas. Musil dispõe de um referencial científico e matemático, filosófico e estético diferente da Psicanálise; ele se manifesta no projeto sui generis das novelas "Uniões" (a segunda obra de Musil após o "Törless").

    Em sua "Selbstdarstellung" (2011 [1924]), Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), ressalta as origens judaicas e, nessa linhagem, o êxodo que marca sua família: percurso que desemboca em Viena e, posteriormente, em Londres, estação final. As marcas do exílio nos escritos freudianos reforçam o vínculo com o judaísmo, índice da herança paterna. O episódio do "gorro na lama", descrito na "Interpretação dos Sonhos" (2019 [1900]), como a humilhação do pai de Freud, Jakob, aos olhos da criança que aspirava a sonhos de grandeza, assim como o presente do Velho Testamento (DERRIDA 2001; YERUSHALMI 1992), abrem portas para outras questões centrais nas teorias freudianas. O pai, a "judeidade" (FUKS 2000), remetem às reflexões de Freud sobre religião, notadamente nas obras "Totem & Tabu" (2012 [1913]), "O Futuro de uma ilusão" (2014 [1927]), "Moisés e o Monoteísmo" (2018 [1939]). Dessas, o Moisés de Freud é o texto derradeiro, cujas raízes ligam-se ao povo judeu. Outros temas, como o anti-semitismo, as vantagens das "teses universalistas" da intelectualidade judaica, (SAID 2004), o isolamento e a resistência (GAY 1990) são igualmente importantes para os estudos psicanalíticos. Ser judeu é ser o Outro, e por isso, transitar pelo (des)território psicanalítico: da pulsão, da escuta das histéricas, da sexualidade infantil, da insistência da neurose, do valor do sonho. ; In his self-portrayal "Selbstdarstellung" (2011 [1924]), Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) underlines the Jewish origin and the exodus that characterizes his family: the road that leads to Vienna and later ends in London. The signs of exile in Freud's writings strengthen the connection to Judaism, an indication of the paternal inheritance.     Als Rückseite des Erzählens ist das dynamisierte Unbewußte deessentialisiert und in gewissem Sinne deterritorialisiert. In dieser Hinsicht ist die Allegorisierung des Unbewußten als dem Verschütteten, das es auszugraben gilt, gerade nicht zutreffend. Das Erzählmodell, das dieser Erzählung zugrunde liegt, ist aber andererseits nur die Quintessenz des 19. Jahrhunderts, weil es zugleich auf eine restlose Essentialisierung und Reterritorialisierung hinausläuft. Das Verschüttete, das wiedergewonnen werden muß, ist ja die tote schwesterliche Geliebte als das globale Signifikat, auf das alle Signifikanten, alle Fehlleistungen verweisen (und das den Rückseiten des Erzählens allemal ein Ende setzt).

    O trabalho retoma a análise freudiana de "Der Sandmann", presente num ensaio de 1919 que se provou paradigmático para as interpretações futuras da obra de E. T. A. Hoffmann. No dito ensaio, o pai da psicanálise faz diversos juízos sobre a construção argumentativa da novela romântica que, nos estudos literários, vêm sendo indevidamente atribuídos ao próprio Hoffmann. Seu programa estético supostamente seria aquele de um analista dos mecanismos psíquicos de suas personagens, revelando-o como um curioso conhecedor avant la lettre das teorias psicanalíticas. É como se a criação de um imaginário horripilante que caracteriza sua prosa servisse a um impulso interpretativo das áreas ocultas da psique a fim de detrair tendências irracionalistas e animistas de suas personagens. A crítica freudiana ao animismo é um dos aspectos mais contestados por estudiosos recentes como Bruno Latour e Isabelle Stengers e, por isso, retomaremos seus argumentos num segundo momento. Então, alguns de seus argumentos serão retomados em um segundo momento do artigo para que possamos voltar a Hoffmann e reinterpretar sua estética como uma defesa de certo tipo de animismo, para além dos paradigmas psicanalíticos que nunca cessaram de o ensombrar. This paper takes up Freud's analysis of "Der Sandmann" (1816), embodied in a 1919 article which proved itself paradigmatic to interpretations of E. T. A. Hoffmann's work. In this article, the father of psychoanalysis renders several judgments about the argumentative structure of the romantic novella which, in Literary Studies, have been improperly attributed to Hoffmann himself. His aesthetical program would namely be one of an analyst of psychical mechanisms of his characters, thus revealing the author as an odd pundit of psychoanalytic theories much before their inception. It is as if the setup of the horrifying fantasy which characterizes his prose should come along an interpretative urge of the hidden areas of the psyche, so as to discredit irrational and animist tendencies in his characters. Freud's critique of animism is one of the most contested by recent scholar such as Bruno Latour and Isabelle Stengers. Hence, some of their arguments will be recovered at a second moment of this article in order that we go back to Hoffmann and reinterpret his aesthetics as a defense of a certain type of animism, beyond the psychoanalytic paradigm that never ceased to overshadow it.

    Em sua "Selbstdarstellung" (2011 [1924]), Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), ressalta as origens judaicas e, nessa linhagem, o êxodo que marca sua família: percurso que desemboca em Viena e, posteriormente, em Londres, estação final. As marcas do exílio nos escritos freudianos reforçam o vínculo com o judaísmo, índice da herança paterna. O episódio do "gorro na lama", descrito na "Interpretação dos Sonhos" (2019 [1900]), como a humilhação do pai de Freud, Jakob, aos olhos da criança que aspirava a sonhos de grandeza, assim como o presente do Velho Testamento (DERRIDA 2001; YERUSHALMI 1992), abrem portas para outras questões centrais nas teorias freudianas. O pai, a "judeidade" (FUKS 2000), remetem às reflexões de Freud sobre religião, notadamente nas obras "Totem & Tabu" (2012 [1913]), "O Futuro de uma ilusão" (2014 [1927]), "Moisés e o Monoteísmo" (2018 [1939]). Dessas, o Moisés de Freud é o texto derradeiro, cujas raízes ligam-se ao povo judeu. Outros temas, como o anti-semitismo, as vantagens das "teses universalistas" da intelectualidade judaica, (SAID 2004), o isolamento e a resistência (GAY 1990) são igualmente importantes para os estudos psicanalíticos. Ser judeu é ser o Outro, e por isso, transitar pelo (des)território psicanalítico: da pulsão, da escuta das histéricas, da sexualidade infantil, da insistência da neurose, do valor do sonho. In his self-portrayal "Selbstdarstellung" (2011 [1924]), Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) underlines the Jewish origin and the exodus that characterizes his family: the road that leads to Vienna and later ends in London. The signs of exile in Freud's writings strengthen the connection to Judaism, an indication of the paternal inheritance. The episode "Cap in the Mud", described in "Interpretation of Dreams" (2019 [1900]) as the humiliation of Freud's father Jacob seen through the eyes of a child who aspired to dreams of greatness, as well as the gift of the Old Testament received from his father (DERRIDA 2001; YERUSHALMI 1992), both open doors to other central issues in Freudian theories. The father, as well as his Jewish condition (FUKS 2000), refer to Freud's reflections on religion, in particular in the works "Totem & Taboo" (2012 [1913]), "The Future of an Illusion" (2014 [1927]), and "Moses and Monotheism" (2018 [1939]). Of these, Freud's Moses is the last text whose roots are related to the Jewish people. Other themes, such as anti- Semitism, the advantages of the "universalist theses" of Jewish intellectuality, (SAID 2004), and isolation and resistance (GAY 1990), are equally important for psychoanalytic studies. To be a Jew means to be The Other and consequently to cross the psychoanalytic (unknown / non-)territory: the territory of the drive, of listening to hysterics, of children's sexuality, of the insistence on neurosis, of the value of dreams.
