    The publication strives to explore the varied interdependencies between Paratext, Authorship and literary works and their importance for positioning strategies within the literary field (Bourdieu). To this end the publication contains theoretically oriented articles as well as specific ones, concerned with paratexts from baroque to contemporary literature. Ohne Paratexte gibt es keine Texte. Auf die bislang nur wenig beachteten, nicht material mit dem Medium des Textes verbundenen Paratexte als Zone der Transaktion lenkt der Band Paratextuelle Politik und Praxis gezielt seine Aufmerksamkeit. Funktional verknüpft mit der periodischen Publizistik spielen diese Paratexte eine tragende Rolle für die Konstituierung des jeweiligen Gesamtwerks, insbesondere aber auch für die Positionierung der AutorInnen im literarischen Feld.
