    Ce volume interroge la notion de « récit minimal », aussi bien dans ses limites qualitatives que quantitatives. Qu'est ce qu'un récit a minima ? Peut-on déterminer un contenu minimal de la narrativité : au moins une action, un événement ? Quel statut donner aux récits à l'événementialité incomplète, aux récits où « il ne se passe rien », aux récits où les actions apparaissent sans intentionalité ? Est-il possible de représenter le non-événement ? Quelles différences entre récit minimal, récit minimaliste et écriture blanche ? L'originalité de ce recueil d'essais réside dans son ouverture à plusieurs supports narratifs : aux études narratologiques et littéraires, sur des auteurs tels que Régnier, Ramuz, Larbaud, Quignard, Michon, Macé ou Chevillard, s'ajoutent des analyses sur la présence du récit minimal dans la poésie et le théâtre, ainsi que dans la bande dessinée, le cinéma, les récits de presse et la publicité.

    An important motif of twentieth century fantastic literature is the exploration of a house or a room whose furniture and spatial organization are disconcerting. Such a motif is presumably symptomatic of a deep questioning on space structure understood according to Euclides and Newton ; it also echoes the anthropological crisis of the very notion of "place", a crisis mirrored in literature, visual arts and cinema, which can be deciphered in particular descriptive passages signaling the aporetic turn of narrative in fictions by J.-L. Borgès and André Pieyre de Mandiargues.

    Wenn verschiedene Sprachen, Literaturen und Kulturen in mehrsprachigen Räumen und Situationen und in intertextuellen Dialogen miteinander in Beziehung treten, entsteht ein kreatives Potential, das der karibische Schriftsteller Patrick Chamoiseau als 'actif relationnel' bezeichnet: " La communauté est désormais dans l'actif relationnel des langues, des cultures et des hommes ". Wie lässt sich diese Idee für die literarische Komparatistik fruchtbar machen, zu deren Aufgaben es gehört, die komplexen Beziehungen zwischen verschiedenen Sprachen, Literaturen und Kulturen zu untersuchen? Mit welchen sprachlichen und poetischen Verfahren wird es in der literarischen Praxis mobilisiert, mit welchen Methoden kann man ihm auf analytischer und theoretischer Ebene gerecht werden? Despite their rough way of life, they represent a cultural order much closer to ecological harmony, which constitutes a major theme in Frank Herbert's saga. Borges' perspective, in 'The Story of the Warrior and the Female Prisoner', is not so much ethical/political as it is philosophical : the mutual fascination between the 'civilized' and the 'barbarians' is tantamount to magnetic opposites, border-crossing and meaningful otherness. These three visions of the 'barbarian' can be distinguished not only through their ideological underpinnings, but also through their narrative techniques.
