a vote was put, whether the quota due to the African and Indian Company, shall be paid by the Commissioners for disposing of the Equivalent to the respective proprietors and creditors of the said Company; or, to persons to be appointed by the Council General and Directors of the said company; An it carried to the proprietors, and the list of the members names as they voted ordered to be printed, is as follows -

there were two states of a vote offered, the first in these terms, approve of the clause following, viz. And that there shall be allowed 5 shilling Ster. for every barrell of beeff or pork, salted with forreign salt, and exported for sale, alterable by the Parliament of Great-Brittain Yea or Not. And the Second in these Terms, Continue the Praemium of five Shillings upon the Barrel of Beeff and Pork, till the same be altered by the Parliament of Great Brittain, or during the Imposition upon Salt. Then the Vote was put, Which of the two should be the State of the Vote, First or Second, And it carried First. there were two clauses given, the first in these terms, and with proportionable drawbacks and allowances as in England, with this exception, that Scotland after the said seven years shall remain exempted from the dutie of two shillings and four pence a bushel on home salt, imposed by an Act made in England in the 9th and 10th of King William the 3d of England; And if the Parliamet of Great-Britain shall at or before the Expyring of the said Seven Years, substitute any other Fund in place of the said 2 sh. and 4d. of Excise on the Bushel of Home Salt, Scotland shall after the said Seven Years bear a Proportion of the said Fund, and have an Equivalent in the Terms of this Treaty. And the Second in these Terms, But Scotland shall in all time after the Union be exempted from paying of all Dutie or Tax on Salt made in Scotland, in so far allennarly as the said Salt shall be made use of within Scotland; But all Salt made in Scotland, from and after the Union that shall be Exported to England, or to any other Nation in specie, or that shall be imployed in salting of Fish or Flesh to be Exported, or for Victualling of Ships to go to England or any other Nation, shall be lyable to the same Duties, as shall be then payable for Salt made in England, to be levied and secured in the same manner, and with like Drawbacks and Allowances as in England, and that after the Union no Salt whatsomever be brought from Scotland to England by Land in any manner, under the Penalty of &c. Whereupon a Vote was stated, Approve of the First Clause or Second, and it carried First, and the list of the members names as they voted First or Second (ordered to be Printed) is as follows -
