    Introduction : the Isidore-moment, the Liber Iudiciorum, and the schools thesis -- In the beginning : the historyof the historiography of Isidore -- Origins and histories : creating new chains of signification -- The historical Lacunae and Damnatio[nes] Memoriae of the Hispana -- Pinnacle and twilight : the Liber Iudiciorum and the "historical" fulfillment of the Isidore-moment -- Conclusion. "Isidore of Seville and the "Liber Iudiciorum" establishes a novel framework for re-interpreting the Liber Iudiciorum (LI), the law-code issued in Toledo by the Visigothic king Recceswinth (649/653-672) in 654. The LI was a manifestation of a vibrant dialectical situation, particularly between two networks of authority, Isidore-Seville and Toledo-Agali, a defining characteristic of the discourse coloring the fabric of writing in Hispania, c. 600-660. To more fully imagine the meaning, significance and purposes of the LI, this book elicits this cooperative competition through a series of four case-studies on writing in the period. In addition to offering an alternative historiography for the LI, this book expands the corpus of "Visigothic Literature" and introduces what the author refers to as "Gothstalgie.""--

There are several different theories that aim to describe and analyse the coherent structure that a well-written text inhibits. These theories have varying degrees of applicability and feasibility for practical use. Presumably the most data-driven of these theories is the paradigm that comes with the Penn Discourse TreeBank, a corpus annotated for discourse relations containing over 1 million words. Any language other than English however, can be considered a low-resource language when it comes to discourse processing. This dissertation is about shallow discourse parsing (discourse parsing following the paradigm of the Penn Discourse TreeBank) for German. Wie bringt die Graphik der Schrift poetische Sprache zum Ausdruck? Diese Studie untersucht Schrift als genuines lyrisches Darstellungs- und Ausdrucksmittel und gibt Einblick in schriftgraphische Bedeutungsdimensionen. Jahrtausendealter Traditionen visueller Poesie ungeachtet ist die Lyriktheorie noch immer dominant phonozentrisch geprägt. Gegen diese Tendenz richtet die Autorin ihre zentrale These von der Eigenbedeutung lyrischer Schriftlichkeit und erarbeitet ein dezidiert lautsprachenneutrales Konzept der Gedichtschrift jenseits ausgestellter (etwa notationeller, ikonischer oder ideographischer) Visualität. Auf dieser Basis untersucht sie die elementare Schriftpoetik des deutschsprachigen Lyrikers Thomas Kling. Gestützt von der Rekonstruktion exemplarischer Textgenesen zeigt sie, wie ein mediengenuines Konzept der (Gedicht)Schrift für die Lyrikanalyse fruchtbar gemacht werden kann
