On Tuesday last His Excellency the governor was pleased to send a message by the secretary to the Honorable House of Representatives directing their attendance forthwith in the Council chamber. The House went up accordingly, and after His Excellency had given his assent to several engrossed bills, he made the following speech to both houses -
