    The present article considers how and to which extent the correct German pronunciation is to be entered into the "German-Czech Academic Dictionary" (LGCAD) being written. The authors state that the codified pronunciation of the German Standard ("deutschländisches Deutsch") is the most suitable pronunciation norm because it represents most German speakers despite its many existing variations. This norm, represented by DUDEN, vol. 6 ("Das Aussprachewörterbuch"), is commented with special regard to the role of the German standard in foreign language teaching in the Czech Republic. The authors claim that the teachers ("model speakers" according to Ulrich Ammon’s model of four social forces) as well as dictionary users have to follow a single codified pronunciation norm. ...

    COOCCURRENCE ANALYSIS SEEN CONTRASTIVELY On applying collocational patterning in bilingual lexicography - some examples from the large German-Czech academic dictionary This paper resumes some of thoughts presented in the study by C. Belica and K. Steyer in this volume. It shows how bilingual lexicographers can take advantage of the cooccurrence analysis results when dealing with German-Czech contrast and structuring word configurations in an entry. They also sketch the corpus data in a form of structural types based on the collocational patterns and stress the importance of cooccurrence analysis for an enlarged offer of equivalents. They plead for more consideration of the syntactic variability. They argue that the cooccurrence analysis used for both German and for Czech should be an important step. ; KOOKURENCNI ANALYZA V KONTRASTIVNÍM POHLEDU O jejím vyuzití pri vzniku velkého némecko-ceského akademického slovníku Clánek navazující na príspévek autorü C. Belici a K. Steyerové v tomto sborníku ukazuje uzitecnost kookurencni analyzy pro kontrastivní pohled na némeckou a ceskou slovní zá- sobu pri práci na heslovych statích. Moznosti jeho zmapování dokumentuji autorky na nástinu nékolika charakteristickych strukturních celkü. Vedle podchycení casto se vyskytu- jících slovních spojení a vyznamné pomoci pri vytvárení nabídky píekladovych ekvivalentú se otevírají i nové moznosti pro zohlednéní syntaktickych obmén. Autorky se primlouvají za uplatnéní kookurencni analyzy pri vyzkumu obou jazykú, nejen némciny.

    Empirical synchronic language studies generally seek to investigate language phenomena for one point in time, even though this point in time is often not stated explicitly. Until today, surprisingly little research has addressed the implications of this time-dependency of synchronic research on the composition and analysis of data that are suitable for conducting such studies. Existing solutions and practices tend to be too general to meet the needs of all kinds of research questions. In this theoretical paper that is targeted at both corpus creators and corpus users, we propose to take a decidedly synchronic perspective on the relevant language data. Such a perspective may be realised either in terms of sampling criteria or in terms of analytical methods applied to the data. As a general approach for both realisations, we introduce and explore the FReD strategy (Frequency Relevance Decay) which models the relevance of language events from a synchronic perspective.     The present article considers how and to which extent the correct German pronunciation is to be entered into the "German-Czech Academic Dictionary" (LGCAD) being written. The authors state that the codified pronunciation of the German Standard ("deutschländisches Deutsch") is the most suitable pronunciation norm because it represents most German speakers despite its many existing variations. This norm, represented by DUDEN, vol. 6 ("Das Aussprachewörterbuch"), is commented with special regard to the role of the German standard in foreign language teaching in the Czech Republic. The authors claim that the teachers ("model speakers" according to Ulrich Ammon’s model of four social forces) as well as dictionary users have to follow a single codified pronunciation norm. For practical reasons, regional varieties shall be selected only according to the "Duden Universalwörterbuch" and "Variantenwörterbuch". In addition, dictionary authors have to focus on the most striking interferences between German and Czech as researched and described by Marie Maroušková.

    Die bisherige mangelhafte Berücksichtigung der substantivierten Infinitive in zweisprachigen Wörterbüchern Deutsch-Tschechisch kontrastiert mit deren oft hoher Vorkommenshäufigkeit sowie mit den Anforderungen, die an moderne Übersetzungswörterbücher seitens ihrer Benutzer gestellt werden, u. a. auch im Bereich der Darstellung der Kollokabilität und Erfassung der Synonymie bzw. Wortbildungskonkurrenz. Die Aufnahme und Darstellung der Infinitivkonvertate im entstehenden Großen Akademischen Wörterbuch Deutsch-Tschechisch wird in diesem Beitrag aus einer Corpus-Driven-Position behandelt.
