    In this study, among the translations made throughout history, the translation of the Torah called Septuaginta and the translation of the Rosetta stone, which have both guided history, are examined. The aim of the work is to concretize that translation is not always just a function-oriented application; but it is also an important activity that can interact with sociology, politics, economics and religion and can even be as important as to determine human history. In the study, the effects of the mentioned translations on historical events are revealed. Each translation activity examined in the scope of the study is interpreted in terms of its causes and effects that especially were able to change the flow of history. ; Bu çalışmada, tarih boyunca yapılmış çeviriler arasından, tarihin seyrine yön verenler içinde bulunan Septuaginta adlı Tevrat çevirisi ve Reşid taşının çevirisi irdelenmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, çevirinin her zaman sadece işlev odaklı bir uygulamadan ibaret olmadığını; bilakis sosyoloji, siyaset, ekonomi, din gibi alanlarla etkileşim içerisinde bulunan ve insanlık tarihini belirleyebilecek ölçüde önemli bir etkinlik olabileceğini belirginleştirmektir. Çalışmada, ilgili çevirilerin tarihi olgular üzerindeki etkileri ortaya konmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında irdelenen her bir çeviri etkinliği, ortaya çıkış nedenleri ve - özellikle de tarih akışının seyrini değiştirecek - etkileri bakımından ele alınıp yorumlanmaktadır.
