    Die vorgestellten Studien zeichnen auf empirischer Basis Textsortenentwicklungen über einen Zeitraum von 100 bis 600 Jahren nach, wobei die untersuchten Textsorten ebenso aus zentralen gesellschaftlichen Domänen wie Bildung, Recht oder Medien wie aus der privaten Kommunikation stammen. Die vorgestellten empirischen Längsschnittuntersuchungen basieren auf unterschiedlichen Methoden und betrachten den Textsortenwandel teils als ein sich auf allen textuellen Ebenen abzeichnendes und teils als ein an isolierten Textmerkmalen hervortretendes Phänomen. In ihrer Gesamtheit konturieren die Beiträge den sprachwissenschaftlichen Begriff des Textsortenwandels

Using the experiences of philologists, text critics, text encoders, scientific editors, and media analysts, Digital Critical Editions ranges from philology in ancient Alexandria to the vision of user-supported online critical editing, from peer-directed texts distributed to a few to community-edited products shaped by the many. The authors discuss the production and accessibility of documents, the emergence of tools used in scholarly work, new editing regimes, and how the readers' expectations evolve as they navigate digital texts. The goal: exploring questions such as, What kind of text is produced? Why is it produced in this particular way? Vor diesem Hintergrund entschloss sich der Herausgeber, das Projekt eines Wörterbuchs der Editionsphilologie zu initiieren. Der Band fasst Beiträge und Arbeitsergebnisse zu diesem Vorhaben zusammen und möchte damit zu einer allgemeinen Sensibilisierung für die Problematik editorischer Begrifflichkeit beitragen. Main description: The lack of consistency and precision of editorial terminology is an often-bemoaned complication for the work of any publisher or editor. Against this backdrop, the editor of this volume launched an ambitious project to create a “Dictionary of Editorial Philology.” The book compiles articles and findings from this endeavor, with the aim of making a contribution to raising general awareness about the problems of editorial terminology.     "Die Rede vom Ereignis enthält vielfache Konnotationen: die der Flüchtigkeit und Unwiederholbarkeit, die des Kontingenten und Überraschenden, die des Einschneidenden und Epochemachenden, auch die des Neuen und Spektakulären. Der Sammelband fokussiert die Kategorie des Ereignishaften in der Literatur. Es werden die vielfältigen Strategien beschrieben, mit deren Hilfe Schriftsteller Ereignishaftigkeit in bzw. mit ihren Texten erzeugen, indem sie Erwartungen und/oder Strukturen unterbrechen, stören oder aufheben und zugleich den Text als ein präsentisches Geschehen inszenieren. Im Unterschied zur älteren Diskussion um den Ereignisbegriff wird die Ebene der Programme und Praktiken verstärkt in den Blick genommen. In seiner Komplexität bietet der Ereignisbegriff für die Literaturwissenschaft ein noch ungenutztes Potential. Er erlaubt zum einen vertiefte Einblicke in das Funktionieren literarischer Evolution. Zum anderen ermöglicht er es, die in diesem Zusammenhang relevanten Modi einer auf den gegenwärtigen Augenblick bezogenen Selbstpräsentation, wie sie insbesondere moderne literarische Texte auszeichnen, angemessener zu verstehen und zu beschreiben"-- "The volume focuses on the nature of the event in literature.
