    Die Zeitschrift Pandaemonium Germanicum erscheint zweimal jährlich und versteht sich als Forum für die wissenschaftliche Diskussion in den verschiedenen Bereichen der internationalen Germanistik, nämlich der Literatur- und Übersetzungswissenschaft, Linguistik, DaF und Kulturstudien. Die Zeitschrift wird von der deutschen Abteilung der FFLCH-USP (Universität São Paulo) seit 1997 herausgegeben und will zur Verbreitung unveröffentlichter Forschungen von GermanistInnen aus Brasilien und anderen Ländern, sowie zur Förderung des Dialogs zwischen der Germanistik und anderen Wissensbereichen beitragen.

    In this paper we discuss some of Anatol Rosenfeld's most important writings on the theater, especially his O Teatro épico (Epic Theater), where he takes up the principles of Brecht’s dramatic art and Brecht's work in organizing anthologies of outstanding German literary authors (Lessing, Goethe and Schiller, for example). The objective here is to show how all these influences are intertwined in Rosenfeld’s analysis of the Brazilian theatrical production of the 1960s. Between the lines of Rosenfeld's critique one can see the ethical dimension he attributes to Brazil's intellectual activity. He also mentions the efforts taken to adapt the transforming potential of Brechtian theater to the specific political and cultural context of countries like Brazil. O presente artigo aborda alguns dos principais escritos de Anatol Rosenfeld sobre teatro, sobretudo O teatro épico, obra em que se debruça sobre os preceitos da dramaturgia de Brecht, bem como seu trabalho como organizador de antologias de autores canônicos da literatura alemã (Lessing, Goethe, Schiller), para mostrar como essas influências se cruzam em sua análise da produção teatral brasileira dos anos 1960. Nas entrelinhas da crítica de Rosenfeld, percebe-se a dimensão ética que ele atribuía à sua atividade intelectual e, ainda, um esforço de adaptar o potencial transformador do teatro brechtiano às demandas de um contexto político e cultural específico como o brasileiro.

    One of the most important chapters in the reception of German theater in Brazil began in 1958 with the presentation of Berthold Brecht's play "The Good Woman of Setsuan". The subsequent performance of many of his works brought up new dramaturgic and theoretical questions in a context that was open to aesthetic experimentation and marked by a dialectic between the theater and the turbulent social context of the period. Groups such as Arena, Oficina, and CPC discussed, updated and articulated Brecht's work through their experimentation. Since this reception in Brazil, both in the late 1950s and today, is based on several different theoretical and critical references, it would seem well to go back to Anatol Rosenfeld's critique of Brecht. From his broad knowledge of aesthetic theater, epic theater theory, Brazilian theater and Brecht's work, Rosenfeld holds an important place in the debates on Brecht's works and Brecht's influence on Brazilian theater. In this article we take up several phases in Rosenfeld's work, which is theoretical as well as historical and critical. His contributions are considered among the most lucid and updated studies on Brecht and the Brazilian theater. Um dos capítulos mais importantes da recepção do teatro alemão no Brasil se iniciou em 1958, com a montagem de "A alma boa de Setsuan". A encenação de muitas entre suas obras a partir de então colocou novas questões dramatúrgicas e teóricas num cenário aberto à experimentação estética e marcado pela dialética entre o teatro e o turbulento contexto social brasileiro da época. Grupos como o Arena, o Oficina e o CPC discutiram, atualizaram e articularam a obra de Brecht com suas próprias pesquisas. Como essa recepção, ontem como hoje no Brasil, é feita a partir dos mais diferentes referenciais teóricos e críticos, faz-se necessária a revisitação da crítica esclarecedora de Anatol Rosenfeld sobre Brecht. Profundo conhecedor de estética teatral, da teoria do teatro épico, da obra de Brecht e do teatro brasileiro, Rosenfeld tem papel decisivo em vários debates em torno de sua obra e de sua influência no teatro brasileiro. Nesse artigo, a partir de questões que surgem da recepção contemporânea de Brecht, pretendemos acompanhar algumas etapas desse percurso na obra de Rosenfeld, que é tanto teórico como histórico e crítico e se constitui como um dos mais lúcidos e atuais estudos sobre Brecht e o teatro brasileiro.

    In the essay "Engagement", published in 1962, Theodor Adorno discusses the duality between committed and autonomous literature, noticing that at his time the controversy doesn't stand in the level of human survival and life in society, but presents itself as an intellectual speculation. This text recovers Adorno's main ideas concerning the subject and tries to reflect upon them. The German thinker shows the two poles of thoughts on the problem and says that the tension between them is now dissolved. He then talks about the confusions of the debate about commitment, and offers some reflections upon philosophy and art in Sartre's work, Bertolt Brecht's didacticism in art, as well as his treatment of fascism, the relation between politics and poetic tone, the problem of suffering related to the work of art, the contemporary experimentalism of Kafka and Becket, the cultural traditions in France and Germany, and the relations between politics and autonomous art. No ensaio "Engagement", de 1962, Theodor Adorno recoloca em discussão a dicotomia entre literatura engajada e literatura autônoma, advertindo que em seu tempo a controvérsia não se situa mais no nível da sobrevivência humana ou da vida em sociedade, mas se coloca como uma especulação intelectual. O presente texto recupera as principais ideias de Adorno a respeito do tema e procura refletir sobre elas. O pensador apresenta os dois polos de pensamento sobre o problema e inicia dizendo que a tensão entre eles agora está diluída. Seguem-se então considerações sobre as confusões que envolvem o debate sobre o engagement, reflexões sobre a filosofia da arte de Sartre e sua concretização em obras de ficção, a arte e a didática de Bertolt Brecht, bem como o tratamento que o dramaturgo alemão dá ao fascismo, a relação entre o tom da poesia e a política, o problema do sofrimento ligado à obra de arte, o experimentalismo contemporâneo de Kafka e Becket, as tradições culturais da França e da Alemanha, e as relações entre a política e a arte autônoma.

By analyzing the various movements of the text, we seek to understand its qualification, given by Müller himself in his autobiography, as an autodrama, a term that would refer, according to the hypothesis of the article, to a comparison with the Brechtian genre of the learning play (Lehrstück). O artigo aborda a peça "Descrição de imagem", de Heiner Müller, como um exemplo de sua dramaturgia tardia. Pela análise dos diversos movimentos do texto, busca-se entender a qualificação, dada pelo próprio Müller em sua autobiografia, da peça como um autodrama, termo que remeteria, segundo a hipótese do artigo, a um confronto com o gênero brechtiano da peça de aprendizagem (Lehrstück).

    In 1903 Arthur Schnitzler published the play "Reigen" ("La ronde"), which presented ten dialogues, each one occurring before and after a sexual conquest. The play intended to present typical behavior of social statuses through the way each figure behaved in achieving the same goal. The sexual inferences in the text caused a commotion and it was criticized as being immoral. In 1950 the play was transposed to the screen in a movie directed by Max Ophüls. This work was basically faithful to the play, but gave a certain lightness to the theme, which would seem to indicate a loosening of moral standards toward sex during that period. In 2012 Fernando Meirelles directed a film inspired by Schnitzler's play: "360". Even though the present day stands out for its sexual liberation, the movie does not show Ophüls' lightness. On the contrary, the film is bleak and depicts interpersonal relationships through the prism of guilt implied by infidelity and repressed sexual desires. In this article we will discuss how the theme of lust and sexual impulses expressed by Schnitzler evolved in its different representations after more than a century, and how the ethical problem was shaped to each work and its moment in history. Em 1903, Arthur Schnitzler publicou a peça "Reigen" (port. "A ronda"), a qual apresentava dez diálogos, cada qual se desenvolvendo antes e depois de uma conquista sexual. A obra pretende apresentar comportamentos típicos de diferentes classes sociais através da forma como se comportavam para chegar ao mesmo objetivo. A ciranda sexual apresentada no texto causou comoção em sua época e foi criticada por sua alegada imoralidade. Em 1950, a peça foi transposta para o cinema em um filme de Max Ophüls. Sua obra buscou ser fiel ao original, mas também concedeu uma certa leveza ao tema, o que parece indicar um alargamento nos padrões morais diante o sexo. Em 2012, Fernando Meirelles filmou uma releitura da peça de Schnitzler: "360". Na atualidade, uma era marcada pela liberação sexual, o filme não mantém a leveza dada por Ophüls, mas, pelo contrário, é pesado e trata de relações interpessoais através do prisma do sentimento de culpa provocado por traições ou desejos sexuais reprimidos. Neste artigo, será discutido como a temática do desejo e dos impulsos sexuais trazida por Schnitzler se transformou com a passagem de mais de um século, e como a questão da ética foi modelada a cada obra e seu tempo.

    This paper is based on considerations by Gianni Vattimo and Jürgen Habermas on Nietzsche's institution of postmodernity as a "farewell" to Western Modernity and to the kind of rationality associated with it. Here we analyze how a "self-referential critique of reason" (Habermas) is actually engendered by Nietzschean aesthetic thought. We thus reconsider the terms in which the postmodern "farewell" itself should be conceived. Partindo das considerações de Gianni Vattimo e de Jürgen Habermas sobre a instauração nietzschiana da pós-modernidade como uma "despedida" à modernidade ocidental e ao tipo de racionalidade a ela associada, este texto analisa o modo pelo qual uma "crítica autorreferencial da razão" (Habermas) é efetivamente engendrada pelo pensamento estético nietzschiano, de modo a reconsiderar os termos pelos quais a própria "despedida" pós-moderna deve ser concebida.

    This article presents an overall history of a course in German as a Foreign Language (DaF) from the early 1950s until the present time. It focuses on the historical process of institutionalization of this endeavor in Germany and the increasing importance of the subject of German on the international scene through policies related to language and culture enacted by the German government, and the commercialization of books on the teaching of German produced for the global market. O artigo apresenta as linhas gerais do desenvolvimento histórico da área de Alemão como Língua Estrangeira (ALE), desde os anos de 1950 até os dias de hoje, focalizando principalmente o processo de sua institucionalização na Alemanha bem como a crescente projeção da área no âmbito internacional, através de medidas de política linguística e cultural do governo alemão e a comercialização de livros didáticos produzidos para o mercado global. Der Artikel zeichnet die allgemeinen Entwicklungslinien des Fachs Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) ab den Fünfziger Jahren bis zur heutigen Zeit nach.     Distance-learning language courses are gaining ground because they meet contemporary social demands and expand opportunities for access to new knowledge. They also favor interaction among people with similar goals but who live in places where no live learning arrangements are available. Taking Valente (2002), Garrison and Anderson (2000), and other authors for theoretical bases, this paper reflects on the criteria and aspects to be considered when one plans and ministers online teacher training courses. The data were taken from a distance-based university extension course offered on the Moodle learning platform by a university in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The objective was to encourage German language teachers to further develop their own language skills, reflect on aspects of inter-culturality in teaching the target language, and provide experience with current technological resources. This paper describes the elements that proved to be relevant in the creation and planning of the course, based on authors who deal with characteristics of computer-mediated teaching. The importance of this study is related to the fact that little information is available on the planning of courses in online formats. Os cursos de línguas a distância vêm ganhando força por se adequarem às demandas sociais contemporâneas e ampliarem as possibilidades de acesso a novos conhecimentos, favorecendo a interação entre pessoas com objetivos semelhantes, mas oriundas de regiões distantes do local no qual os cursos são constituídos e ministrados. Tomando como pressupostos teóricos os estudos de Valente (2002), Garrison e Anderson (2000), entre outros, este trabalho tem como objetivo tecer reflexões acerca dos critérios considerados durante o planejamento e a execução de um curso online voltado para a formação de professores de alemão. Os dados advêm de um curso a distância de extensão universitária, oferecido na plataforma de aprendizagem Moodle de uma universidade do interior de São Paulo, que teve como objetivo levar professores de alemão a um maior desenvolvimento das competências linguísticas, à reflexão sobre aspectos da interculturalidade no ensino da língua-alvo, bem como à vivência com alguns recursos tecnológicos atuais. Serão apresentados os elementos que se mostraram relevantes no planejamento e desenvolvimento do curso, tomando como base autores que discorreram sobre características do ensino mediado pelo computador. A relevância do trabalho encontra-se no fato de que pouco foi encontrado sobre o tema planejamento de cursos para a modalidade online.

    This paper discusses the notion of linguistic staging as applied to the field of German as a Foreign Language (DaF). We thus propose a concept of staging of linguistic competence as a strategic procedure by which the scientific academic literacy of writers is enacted in a foreign language. Through staging, learners show linguistic competence to formulate complex structures and to express routines and actions of conventionalized language in the target discourse. We hold that linguistic enacting can be expressed through specific structures as well as through processes of selection of terms. This conjecture is discussed based on the predicative use of syntagmas beginning with als, which, due to this structure's functional and semantic properties, can be seen as a means for linguistic staging. The corpus is comprised of abstracts written in German by Brazilian doctoral and master's students, and of "think aloud" protocols of the production of those texts. The data suggest that writers often find it difficult to carry out syntactic plans beginning with als and to choose the correct verbs for arguments beginning with als. Nonetheless, two strategies of linguistic staging were identified during the study: paraphrasing and accessing semantically concrete concepts before taking up abstract concepts. O presente ensaio discute a noção de encenação linguística, aplicando-a ao campo de estudos de Alemão como Língua Estrangeira (DaF). Assim, propomos um conceito de encenação da competência linguística, como um procedimento estratégico através do qual a competência científica dos escritores é representada por meio da língua estrangeira. Através da encenação, os escritores demonstram domínio linguístico para formular estruturas complexas, bem como para expressar rotinas e ações de linguagem convencionalizadas no discurso alvo. Defendemos que a Encenação Linguística pode-se manifestar através de estruturas específicas, e através de processos de seleção lexical. Essa conjectura é discutida com base no uso predicativo de sintagmas introduzidos por als, os quais, devido a suas propriedades semânticas e funcionais, podem ser vistos como um recurso de encenação linguística. O corpus é composto de abstracts escritos em alemão por mestrandos e doutorandos brasileiros e de Protocolos de Pensamento em Voz Alta da produção daqueles textos. Os dados apontam uma recorrente dificuldade para completar um plano sintático iniciado por als, assim como para selecionar os verbos adequados para um argumento introduzido por essa partícula. Não obstante, duas estratégias de encenação linguística puderam ser identificadas: a paráfrase e o acesso a conceitos semanticamente concretos antes da ativação de conceitos abstratos.

    In "Schimmernder Dunst über CobyCounty" (2011), Leif Randt presents a county that seems to be a perfect representation of a consumerist utopia: located on the shore, CobyCounty is characterized by abundant parties, consumerism and wellbeing. The book, however, is narrated by a young man tormented by the possibility of a coming catastrophe, since his best friend left town, following his mother's advice – a woman that had joined an esoteric religion. If the perfect functioning of this society is very similar to an utopia, the fear of an announced catastrophe brings the work closer to a dystopia. Other than both genders, the narrative does not present any centralizing kind of power – even if consumerism and advertisement are frequently mentioned. In this article, "Schimmernder Dunst über CobyCounty" will be presented in the light of utopia and dystopia studies. Its bonds to the present time will be emphasized, mostly the dichotomy between the comfort society produced by the advanced technological development and the necessity to avoid the excesses that produced by the same society in the name of a possible ecological catastrophe, that has been announced by scientists and activists, but that still does not affect people's life directly. Em "Schimmernder Dunst über CobyCounty" (2011), Leif Randt apresenta um condado que seria a mais perfeita representação de uma utopia consumista: localizado à beira-mar, CobyCounty é um lugar de festas abundantes, consumo e bem-estar. O livro, contudo, é narrado por um jovem atormentado pela possibilidade de uma catástrofe que se aproxima, desde que seu melhor amigo abandonou a cidade, ouvindo os conselhos da mãe que se afiliou a uma religião esotérica. Se a perfeição do funcionamento dessa sociedade se aproxima muito de uma utopia, o temor de uma catástrofe anunciada aproxima a obra de uma distopia. Deve-se notar, no entanto, que, ao contrário de utopias e distopias, a obra não apresenta uma força centralizadora de poder – mesmo que a menção ao consumismo e às propagandas seja frequente. Neste artigo, "Schimmernder Dunst über CobyCounty" será apresentado à luz dos estudos da utopia e distopia, enfatizando seus laços com o tempo atual, marcado pela dicotomia entre a sociedade de conforto produzida pelo alto desenvolvimento tecnológico e a necessidade de se evitar os excessos produzidos por essa mesma sociedade em nome de uma possível catástrofe ecológica, anunciada por cientistas e ativistas, mas da qual não se percebe o impacto diretamente.

    This paper aims to analyze the novel "Imperium" by Christian Kracht (2012) within the long tradition of self-enactments of writers and artists in general as a constitutive element of the aesthetic field. Concerning Kracht, this is done first in the narrative text itself as a literary enactment with all its facets and second in Kracht's bewildering media appearances where his literary writings, in itself dubious, are once more rearranged, put in doubt or enriched. This procedure thus generates uncertainties, ambiguities and disfigurements that are the hallmark of Kracht in the contemporary literary universe. O artigo objetiva abordar o romance "Imperium" de Christian Kracht (2012) dentro da longa tradição estética de autoencenações de escritores e artistas em geral. No caso de Kracht, isso é feito inicialmente a partir do próprio texto narrativo como encenação literária em todas as suas facetas e, em seguida, a partir de suas desconcertantes aparições mediáticas, em que seus escritos literários, já de per si dúbios, são rearranjados, questionados ou enriquecidos. Geram-se assim incertezas, ambiguidades e desfigurações que são a marca registrada de Kracht no universo literário atual.

    If not one of the best, Christian Kracht is certainly one of the most talked about authors of fiction in the German language nowadays. His career goes back to 1995, when his first novel "Faserland" was published ‒ an event which helped to shape the so called "Popliteratur". However, whether it is the zero hour of a work composed of other good moments or whether it is the literary mark of a generation, "Faserland" is not only an example of a pop reality. It has also deserved frequent reading and interpretations, reprints and critical approaches, attracting by these means the attention of literary historiography. The novel narrates a few days' wanderings of a narcotized and affluent young man from Northern to Southern Germany reaching as far as Switzerland. There is no great adventure in the story, but the book leaves rather an impression of emptiness and fastidiousness which accompanies a senseless life. In this text, I investigate the kind of boredom produced by "Faserland". Christian Kracht é hoje, se não dos melhores, certamente dos mais comentados autores da ficção de língua alemã. Seu trajeto recua a 1995, ano da publicação de "Faserland", o primeiro romance, que aliás distinguiu as balizas daquela que, nessa década, se chamou "Popliteratur". Mas, seja a hora zero de uma obra composta de outros bons momentos, seja o ponteiro literário de uma geração, "Faserland" não é só exemplo pop, tem merecido constantes leituras, sempre novas tiragens, abordagens críticas e assim também a atenção da historiografia literária. No romance são narrados alguns poucos dias da vida narcotizada de um jovem endinheirado e meio sem rumo, do Norte ao Sul da Alemanha, até a Suíça. Nada extraordinário, nenhuma grande peripécia, nenhuma aventura, senão a impressão de um vazio todo presente e o fastio, força do aborrecimento. No texto, investigo que espécie de aborrecimento produz "Faserland".

    Walter Moers is one of the most important authors of contemporary Fantastic Literature in German. Since his first novel, in 1999, the author turned into a bestselling writer. His last six novels all share a common element: the fictive continent of "Zamonien", a fantastic world created by Moers. In this invented world the reader finds a lot of adventures, battles, journeys, conquests, mysteries, fights, dangers, unusual creatures and unknown places. If on one hand, the fantastic works of Moers respond to conventions of the Fantasy genre, on the other hand, they offer a new literary proposal, which breaks some conventions of this genre. This is particularly the case of the metafictional elements, which are very frequent in his novels. This paper intends to introduce a novel of Walter Moers, 'Die Stadt der träumenden Bücher' (2004), and to discuss its constitutive elements, which classify the book as a work in the Fantasy genre, emphasizing especially the metafictional aspects. Walter Moers é um dos grandes autores da vertente fantástica dentro da literatura alemã atual. Desde a publicação de seu primeiro romance, em 1999, o escritor consagrou-se como autor de best-sellers. Nos seis romances publicados até a presente data tem-se um elemento comum, que serve de fio condutor às obras: o continente fictício de "Zamonien", um mundo maravilhoso criado por Moers. Esse mundo inventado é palco para inúmeras aventuras, lutas, jornadas, conquistas, mistérios, disputas, perigos, criaturas inusitadas e cenários desconhecidos. Se, por um lado, as obras fantásticas de Moers estão de acordo com as convenções do gênero da Fantasy; por outro, elas trazem consigo uma proposta literária inovadora, que rompe com algumas convenções desse gênero. É o caso da metaficcionalidade, presente de forma marcante em seus romances. Pretende-se nesse trabalho apresentar brevemente um romance de Walter Moers, 'Die Stadt der träumenden Bücher' (2004), discorrer sobre os elementos constitutivos que inserem a obra no gênero da Fantasy e, por fim, aprofundar-se nos aspectos da metaficcionalidade encontrados na obra em questão.

It highlights some qualities of his criticism as well as his special relation to mass media and entertainment. Finally, by going into details of his biography, the text surveys the relation of the Polish-born Jewish critic with Germany and German culture. O artigo apresenta o crítico literário Marcel Reich-Ranicki e também procura explicar o fenômeno de seu sucesso na Alemanha.     This article aims to analyse the diversity of hate in Christian Weise's play "Masaniello". With his project of a pedagogical theatre, the author wants to prepare his students for future political activities. This includes the development of the ability to imagine other argumentative horizons in order to anticipate possible reactions. This article concentrates on the aesthetic configuration of hate and its implications for the political discourse, taking into consideration the hate felt by members of the clergy, the nobility and the people. Este artigo pretende analisar a diversidade do ódio na peça "Masaniello" de Christian Weise. Com seu projeto de teatro pedagógico, o autor deseja preparar seus estudantes para as futuras atividades políticas. Isso inclui o desenvolvimento da habilidade de imaginar outros horizontes argumentativos para antecipar possíveis reações. Este artigo se concentra na configuração estética do ódio e suas implicações para o discurso político, considerando o ódio experimentado pelo clero, pela nobreza e pelo povo.

    In the following article, we present Sigmund Freud and Vilém Flusser not only as two intellectuals who shared some biographical similarities, but also as two important thinkers of converging propositions. Both critically analyzed the human unease towards individual and cultural differences mediated by the symbolic, and both, each one on his way, tried to propose ways of dealing with the question by emphasizing the creative powers of language and translation to overcome the boundaries of resistance, intolerance and miscommunication. Therefore, we intended here to discuss the contribution to the understanding of each one of these writers and their ideas by proposing a crossed reading of their works. Neste artigo pretendemos apresentar Sigmund Freud e Vilém Flusser não somente como dois intelectuais que dividem certas peculiaridades biográficas, mas como dois importantes pensadores de proposições convergentes. Ambos analisaram criticamente o mal-estar humano face às diferenças individuais e culturais mediadas pelo simbólico e ambos, cada qual ao seu modo, procuraram apresentar maneiras de lidar com tal questão enfatizando as capacidades criativas da linguagem e da tradução em ultrapassar os limites das diferenças, da intolerância e do mal-entendido. Pretendemos, portanto, discutir aqui as contribuições para o entendimento de cada um destes escritores a partir de uma leitura cruzada de suas obras.

    The influence of Bertolt Brecht on Walter Benjamin is usually related to the assimilation of the critical Marxist tradition by the latter. The present article seeks to carry out an immanent and theoretical critique of the work of both authors, pursuing to investigate other possible aspects of this influence. On that ground, the goal is to demonstrate that the "distancing effect" ("Verfremdungseffekt" in German) employed by Brecht in his epic theatre plays a crucial role in the way Benjamin analyses the art of filming and appears in the four versions of the "The work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction" essay, as well as in his theory about the "aura". A influência de Bertolt Brecht sobre Walter Benjamin é comumente atribuída à assimilação da tradição de crítica marxista pelo último. O presente artigo busca realizar uma crítica imanente e teórica da obra de ambos com o fito de investigar outras faces possíveis dessa influência. Sendo assim, o objetivo é demonstrar que o "Efeito de distanciamento" (em alemão "Verfremdungseffekt") utilizado por Brecht em seu teatro épico tem um papel fundamental na leitura que Benjamin fará do cinema e aparece nas quatro versões do ensaio sobre "A obra de arte na época de sua reprodutibilidade técnica", bem como na sua teoria sobre a "aura".

    The present text deals with the form of judgment in Hölderlin and Hegel, focusing mainly on its moments of division and unity. Primarily, both unity and division are related here to topics of love that were developed in the 18th century. Judgment is analyzed within Hegel's Science of Logic and Hölderlin's prefaces of the novel Hyperion and his text "Judgment and Being". The analysis aims to show the connections between these two moments of judgment in the aforementioned texts, the ones which explore the relationships between the categories of singular, particular and universal. Considering these relationships, an interpretation of Hyperion is proposed. O presente texto lida com a forma do juízo em Hölderlin e Hegel, focalizando principalmente seus momentos de divisão e unificação. Inicialmente, unificação e divisão são aqui tratadas a partir de temáticas desenvolvidas em torno do amor no séc. XVIII. O juízo é analisado basicamente no âmbito da Ciência da lógica, de Hegel, de prefácios do romance Hyperion e do texto "Juízo e Ser", de Hölderlin. A análise visa expor as passagens entre esses momentos do juízo nos textos supracitados, as quais mobilizam relações entre singular, particular e geral. Considerando essas relações, propõe-se uma interpretação do romance acima mencionado.

    The present article recapitulates the Brazilian translations of Wilhelm Busch and points out that some publication circumstances have led to a biased reception of his work exclusively as children's literature in this country. Among other translation strategies which could contribute to extend the reading public of his work to an adult audience, this article proposes that the Knittelvers should be translated into Portuguese as a jambic ten-syllable line. An annotated translation of Busch's illustrated poem "Hänsel und Gretel", in this metric pattern, tests in which extent the conscious choice of rhythm and the attainment of cultural associations triggered by it can intensify the ironical effect of this mock fairy tale. Este artigo recapitula as traduções de Wilhelm Busch publicadas no Brasil e aponta que determinadas circunstâncias de publicação levaram a uma recepção unilateral de sua obra exclusivamente como literatura infantil nesse país. Entre outras estratégias que poderiam estender para uma faixa etária adulta o público leitor da poesia humorística buschiana, propõe-se que o Knittelvers seja traduzido para o português como decassílabo iâmbico. Uma tradução anotada do poema "Hänsel und Gretel" nesse padrão métrico-acentual testa em que medida a escolha consciente de um ritmo e o aproveitamento de associações culturais desencadeadas por ele podem destacar o efeito irônico desse pseudoconto-de-fada. Dieser Artikel rekapituliert die brasilianischen Übersetzungen von Wilhelm Busch und weist darauf hin, dass manche Veröffentlichungsumstände in diesem Land zu einer einseitigen Rezeption seines Werkes ausschließlich als Kinderliteratur geführt haben. Unter anderen Übersetzungsstrategien, die zu einer Erweiterung seiner Rezeption durch einerwachsenes Lesepublikum beitragen könnten, wird vorgeschlagen, dass der Knittelvers ins Portugiesische als ein jambischer zehnsilbigen Vers übersetzt wird. Eine kommentierte Übersetzung der Bildergeschichte "Hänsel und Gretel" in diesem metrischen Muster überprüft in welchem Maß der bewusste Gebrauch von Rhythmus und die Beachtung mancher kultureller Assoziationen von Metrik die ironische Wirkung dieses Pseudo-Märchens verstärken können.

    The main purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the results of an empirical research involving adult learners of German as a foreign language with previous knowledge of English. It focuses on some of the processes related to the learning/teaching of third languages, taking into consideration that the German language is usually learned as a second foreign language, especially after English. The main questions of the research are based on positive transfer processes as well as linguistic interference observed in a group of 50 learners of German, levels A1 to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. As for what concerns the relationship between English and German, the assumption that English exerts an important role in the learning process of German could be confirmed, being the etymological relationship between languages one of the most important elements in order to determine the occurrence of cross-linguistic influence. On the other hand, the linguistic interference that results from the coexistence of both languages in the learner’s brain demands the development of a plurilingualism didactic that embraces alternative methods for the teaching/learning of German as a second foreign language in Brazil. O objetivo principal deste artigo é apresentar uma visão geral dos resultados obtidos em uma pesquisa empírica envolvendo aprendizes adultos de alemão como língua estrangeira com conhecimentos prévios de inglês. O foco deste artigo recai sobre os processos envolvidos no ensino/aprendizagem de terceiras línguas, levando-se em consideração que a língua alemã é comumente aprendida como uma segunda língua estrangeira após o inglês. Os principais questionamentos da pesquisa estão baseados em processos de transferência positiva, bem como na interferência linguística observada em um grupo de 50 aprendizes de alemão dos níveis A1 a B1 do Quadro Europeu Comum de Referência para as Línguas. Ao que concerne a relação entre as línguas alemã e inglesa, a afirmação de que o inglês exerce um papel importante na aprendizagem de alemão pôde ser confirmada, sendo o parentesco etimológico entre as duas línguas um dos mais importantes fatores para se determinar a ocorrência de influência interlinguística. Por outro lado, a interferência linguística resultante da coexistência de ambas as línguas demanda o desenvolvimento de uma didática do plurilinguismo que compreenda métodos alternativos para o ensino/aprendizagem de alemão como segunda língua estrangeira no Brasil.

    Starting from the assertion that there is a separate Austrian Literary Identity (which does not want to be seen as part of German literature, but in opposition to it), the article presents arguments and examples which support this claim. Partindo da premissa de que existe uma identidade literária austríaca (que não se entende como parte da literatura alemã, mas que pretende se diferenciar dela), o artigo apresenta argumentos e exemplos que sustentam a referida argumentação. Ausgehend von der Behauptung, dass es eine eigene österreichische Literaturidentität gibt (die nicht als Teil der deutschen Literatur gesehen wird, sondern sich teilweise klar von dieser abgrenzen will), werden Argumente und Beispiele angeführt, die diese Behauptung stützen.

    This paper seeks to indicate that the presence of the First World War in the poetry of Georg Trakl is inextricably entangled with his dark worldview, in which man is seen as an unavoidably misfortunate being. If on the one hand a romantic longing for purity, beauty, and goodness remains in this poetry, on the other hand such longing is continually refuted by menacing images of the evil inherent in the world – among which the images of the Great War impose themselves perhaps as the most terrifying. In order to show the mentioned connection, we shall first explore the experience of the prevalence of evil in the poem "De Profundis" (De Profundis), written before the outbreak of the War, and secondly we shall analyze that experience in the poems "Grodek" (Grodek) and "Lament" (Klage), in which it is directly related to the War. Propomos neste texto indicar que a presença da Primeira Guerra na poesia de Georg Trakl vincula-se de modo inextricável à sua concepção sombria do mundo, em que o homem surge como um ser incontornavelmente desgraçado. Se nessa poesia resiste um romântico desejo de pureza, beleza e bondade, tal aspiração é continuamente refutada por imagens ameaçadoras do mal inerente ao mundo, dentre as quais as da Guerra talvez se imponham como as mais aterradoras. A fim de evidenciar esse vínculo, buscaremos primeiramente explicitar a experiência de prevalecimento do mal no poema "De Profundis" (De Profundis), escrito antes da Guerra, para em seguida analisar essa experiência nos poemas "Grodek" (Grodek) e "Lamento" (Klage), em que está diretamente associada a ela.
