    Ce présent travail entend montrer comment Heidegger, à partir de 1927, renonce progressivement à toute pensée transcendantale, afin d’élaborer la conception d’un ethos fondamental. Nous insistons dans cette évolution sur le rôle de sa lecture de Schelling et en particulier des Recherches philosophiques sur l’essence de la liberté humaine en 1936 (mais aussi en 1927/28 et en 1941), lecture elle-même à concevoir dans le prolongement de son interprétation de la Métaphysique Θ 1-3 d’Aristote en 1931. Le premier pan de notre étude décrit et retrace les différentes étapes de l’abandon du transcendantal jusqu’à la fin des années 1930 : du pouvoir-être transcendantal à l’indigence transcendantale (fin des conditions de possibilité), puis de l’être comme possible à l’être comme im-possible (découverte du pouvoir (δύναμις) inhérent à l’être et fin de toute possibilisation). Dans un second pan, nous développons une partie plus systématique qui se conçoit comme un dialogue – et non comme une comparaison – établi entre les pensées médianes et tardives de Heidegger et de Schelling. Nous décelons en cela une convergence entre les deux auteurs dans leur conception d’un ethos, qui désigne une manière de séjourner au monde reposant sur la correspondance (Ent-sprechung) entre l’amour serein de l’homme et l’élément originaire de l’amour (l’être dans un cas, le Seigneur de l’être dans l’autre). Cet ethos est un ethos de l’im-possible, dans la mesure où s’il advient, il ne se laisse ni prévoir, ni programmer et ne répond à aucun horizon d’attente. C’est en cela qu’il permet le laisser-être de tous les étants comme ce qu’ils sont en propre. ; In this dissertation I would like to show how Heidegger beginning in 1927 gradually distances himself from transcendental thought in order to work out the conception of a fundamental ethos. In this development in Heidegger’s thought I emphasize the role of his Schelling interpretation, specifically his lecture course on the Philosophical Investigations into the Essence of Human Freedom from 1936 (but also from 1927/1928 and 1941). This reading of Schelling can be understood in relation to his 1931 interpretation of Metaphysics Θ 1-3 of Aristotle. The first part of my investigation describes and sketches out the different stages within the abandonment of the transcendental until the end of the 1930s : from the transcendental ability-to-be to the « transcendental neediness » (the end of the conditions of possibility), and from Being as possible to Being as im-possible (the discovery of the capability (δύναμις) that underlies Being ; the end of any enabling). In the second stage of the investigation I develop a more systematic part as a dialogue – as opposed to a comparison – between the middle and late thought of Heidegger and Schelling. Through this dialogue I show a convergence of both philosophers in their conceptions of ethos : ethos is a habitation in the world, which is based on the « correspondence » between the released love of humans and the primordial element of love (which is on the one hand Being and on the other hand the « Lord of Being »). This ethos is an ethos of the Im-possible, because, if it occurs, it cannot be anticipated or planned out and it is not inscribed in any horizon of expectation. It thereby discloses the letting-be of beings as their own.

    L’avènement du monde moderne a signifié depuis la fin du XVIIIe siècle un recul du religieux dans les sociétés européennes. Si les Juifs vont s’assimiler progressivement à la société allemande environnante, certains n’en ressentiront pas moins, à l’instar de leurs concictoyens chrétiens, un vide religieux croissant. A la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale, les horreurs de la guerre – à quoi s’ajoute la défaite – ayant achevé d’ébranler la confiance de nombreux intellectuels allemands dans le progrès, les manifestations de « critique de la civilisation » (« Kulturkritik ») abondent dans l’univers culturel. On observe alors chez les intellectuels juifs une remobilisation de références religieuses dans le but de critiquer l’idéologie du monde qui a produit la guerre. Au sein de la « Renaissance juive » dans l’Allemagne de Weimar, les œuvres de Martin Buber et Franz Rosenzweig se distinguent par la place centrale qu’y occupe la dimension théologique. Cette thèse commence par présenter la critique de l’Occident que les deux auteurs développent du point de vue d’un judaïsme « religieux » qu’ils redécouvrent. Sont ensuite étudiées les relations entre le messianisme juif et la pensée politique chez ces auteurs ainsi que chez quelques philosophes juifs contemporains significatifs. Puis, l’analyse se concentre sur le rapport complexe entre philosophie et religion chez les deux penseurs. Enfin, c’est le renouveau de « marcionisme » (courant de la théologie chrétienne contestant toute validité à l’Ancien Testament) dans la philosophie et la théologie de l’entre-deux-guerres qui est étudié, ainsi que la façon dont Martin Buber et Franz Rosenzweig ont entendu le combattre. ; Since the beginning of the modern era, at the end of the 18th century, a decline of religion has been observed in european societies. Whereas the Jews gradually assimilated to the german society in which they lived, some of them felt, like their christian fellow citizens, a religious vacuum. At the end of the First World War, since the horrors of the war – and the military defeat – had undermined the confidence of many german intellectuals in progress, the expressions of cultural criticism (“Kulturkritik”) are quite a few in the cultural world. Among jewish intellectuals, a new use of religious references is made in order to criticize the world which made the war possible. Within the “jewish Renaissance” in Weimar Germany, the works of Martin Buber and Franz Rosenzweig are distinguished by their focus on theological issues. This doctoral thesis first presents the criticism of the western world which both authors develop out the point of view of a recently rediscovered “religious” judaism. It then studies the relations between jewish messianism and political thought in the works of these authors and other important jewish philosophers of the same period. The intricate relationship between philosophy and religion in both authors’ works is thereupon analysed. Eventually, the dissertation deals with the renewal of “marcionism” (a trend in christian theology denying the validity of the Old Testament) in philosophy and theology during the inter-war period, and the manner in which Martin Buber and Franz Rosenzweig tried to fight against it.

    Pünktlich zum Abschluss des 'Historischen Wörterbuchs der Philosophie' flackerte eine Kontroverse um die Beziehung zwischen seinem Begründer und ersten Herausgeber Joachim Ritter und dessen Münsteraner Lehrstuhlnachfolger Hans Blumenberg auf. Den Ausgangspunkt bildete die theoretisch-methodologische Frage der Verhältnisbestimmung von Begriff und Metapher bzw. Begriffsgeschichte und Metaphorologie, an die sich jedoch zumindest andeutungsweise auch biographisch und wissenschaftshistorisch ausgerichtete Erwägungen anschlossen.

    This is the first comprehensive study of the reception of classical architecture in different regions of the world. Exploring the impact of colonialism, trade, slavery, religious missions, political ideology and intellectual/artistic exchange, the authors demonstrate how classical principles and ideas were disseminated and received across the globe. By addressing a number of contentious issues, highlighted in some historical surveys of architecture, the chapters presented in this volume question long-held assumptions about the notion of a universally accepted ‘classical tradition’ and its broadly Euro-centric perspective. Featuring thirty-two chapters written by international scholars from China, Europe, Turkey, North America, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, the book is divided into four sections: 1) Transmission and re-conceptualisation of classical architecture; 2) Classical influence through colonialism, political ideology and religious conversion; 3) Historiographical surveys of geographical regions; and 4) Visual and textual discourses.     Mit "Stirners Einzigem" ist das Buch 'Der Einzige und sein Eigentum' von Max Stirner gemeint, das gegen Ende des Vormärz erschien. Das Buch war ein Skandalon, ein paradoxes Skandalon allerdings, weil es ideengeschichtlich dort am eingreifendsten wirksam wurde, wo die Reaktion verborgen und indirekt blieb, bei Marx und Nietzsche. Ich habe den diffusen Status des 'Einzigen', der sich daraus ergab und den er, obwohl kein Mangel an Sekundärliteratur herrscht, im Grunde bis heute behielt, in einer Wirkungsgeschichte dargestellt und diese mit einem sprechenden Neologismus eine Re(pulsions- und De)zeptionsgeschichte genannt.

    Auf die Repulsionsgeschichte des Einzigen gemünzt ist das "Vade retro!" im Titel, denn eine Reihe durchaus bedeutender Denker sahen in Stirners Ideen tatsächlich den Inbegriff des Bösen, Teuflischen bzw. "aufgeklärterweise" den Einbruch des Tierischen, Unmenschlichen, Barbarischen, Zerstörerischen in die kulturelle Welt. Einige waren dabei so entschieden, dass sie ihre philosophische Position wesentlich - wenngleich undeklariert - in Abwehr von Stirners Ideen entwickelten.

    Ich werde - nach einer biografischen Skizze zu Leben und Werk Stirners - diese Repulsionsgeschichte in ihren markanteren Stationen wie in einem Parcours durchlaufen, um zu zeigen, dass diese Bezeichnung adäquat ist. Die mit ihr verwobene Dezeptionsgeschichte, also die das Inhaltliche betreffenden Täuschungen, Selbsttäuschungen und Verdrängungen der Abwehrenden, können hier nur beiläufig zur Sprache kommen.
