    Réputée pour son obscurité, la poésie de Friederike Mayröcker n’est cependant pas hermétique. Bien au contraire, la poétesse développe une œuvre ouverte d’une extrême densité,multipliant les possibilités d’interprétation. Elle réalise une écriture du dialogue, fondée sur l’alliance de tendances opposées ainsi que sur l’intertextualité et l’intermédialité, créant des textes en mouvement. L’étude des poèmes rédigés entre 1939 à 2003, au cœur de ce travail, révèle alors successivement toute l’importance de l’union entre l’inspiration et le calcul, le rêve et le montage,l’autobiographie et la poétique, voire la poétologie, la poésie de la nature et la poésie engagée,enfin la littérature, les arts et la musique. Quête du « texte total », ancrée dans la modernité par rapport à laquelle elle se situe, la poésie de Friederike Mayröcker tente de rendre son autonomie à la langue sans renoncer pour autant à toute forme de lyrisme. Ainsi se distingue-t-elle des productions du Groupe de Vienne, auxquelles on l’associe néanmoins fréquemment, et occupe une place si particulière dans le paysage littéraire germanophone de la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle. ; Renowned for its obscurity, Friederike Mayröcker’s poetry ishowever not abstruse. On the contrary, the poetess develops an open work, extremely dense, whichmultiplies the interpretative possibilities. She elaborates a dialogical writing, based on thecombination of contraries as well as on intertextuality and intermediality, creating texts that areconstantly on the move. The poems that are the heart of this study, written between 1939 and2003, show therefore the great importance of the union, respectively, between inspiration andcalculation, dream and montage, autobiography and poetic, indeed poetology, nature poetry andmilitant poetry, finally literature, art and music. In search for the « total text », a search rooted inthe modernity vis-à-vis which it positions itself, Friederike Mayröcker’s poetry tries to liberatelanguage without renouncing all lyrical form. In this it distinguishes itself from the works of theVienna Group, to which it has been nevertheless frequently associated, and hence takes a quietparticular place in the German-speaking literary scene of the second half of the twentieth century.

    Dans une perspective d’histoire culturelle, cette thèse, fondée sur une approche iconologique, se propose de montrer, à partir de l’exemple de la littérature illustrée, que la culture de guerre enfantine allemande n’apparut pas ex nihilo en 1914. Elle avait ses racines dans la culture mémorielle d’avant-guerre. Issu de la peinture historique, un imaginaire héroïque en constituait les fondements. 1914 provoqua une intensification de la culture de guerre. Alors que les éditeurs commercialisèrent des livres patriotiques au moment où la guerre de position était déjà en place, ces ouvrages continuèrent à véhiculer l’image d’une guerre de mouvement. À mesure que les hostilités duraient, des dessins kitsch aux motifs enfantins et des caricatures de l’ennemi permirent de justifier le conflit, stylisé en une guerre défensive. Ces strates ludiques de la culture de guerre enfantine, qui provenaient de l’iconographie politique pour adultes, favorisèrent un élargissement du lectorat, auparavant scolaire, aux jeunes enfants. Les auto-images apologétiques l’emportaient toutefois sur la ridiculisation de l’ennemi. Conjointement aux caricatures, elles renforçaient la communauté nationale et traitaient des liens entre le front et l’arrière, qui devinrent une préoccupation croissante des familles, séparées durablement. Face aux difficultés matérielles, les livres, au ton moralisateur et performatif, cherchèrent à mobiliser matériellement les enfants à l’arrière. Dans ce contexte, des albums furent vendus au profit d’associations patriotiques. D’après les tirages, la littérature patriotique, probablement adressée aux enfants issus des milieux bourgeois, connut un certain succès. ; In a cultural history perspective based on the methods of the “visual turn” this thesis deals with the illustrated children’s literature before and during the First World War and shows that the German children’s “war culture” did not appear ex nihilo in 1914. It had its origins in the memorial culture of pre-war time, which glorified the warfare. It relied on a heroic fantasy that came from historical paintings and used emotional reflexes. 1914 provoked an intensification and development of the “war culture”. While publishers put patriotic books on the market when the war of attrition took place, these books continued to convey familiar and reassuring images of a war of movement. As hostilities lasted, kitsch drawings with children’s characters and caricatures of the enemy used to justify the conflict, stylized in a defensive war. These fun strata of the children’s “war culture”, which came from the political iconography for adults, created an expansion of readership: children from the age of three up were concerned as well as school children. However, apologetic self-images were more important than the hatred and jeer of the enemy. Together with caricatures, they reinforced the national community and dealt with the bonds between the soldiers and the home front, which became a growing concern for permanently separated families. Because of deprivations, the books became sanctimonious and aimed at mobilizing children in the home front. In this context, albums were sold to raise funds for patriotic associations. According to the number of books printed, this patriotic literature, probably targeting children from both the middle and upper classes, were a success.

    Ce travail herméneutique interdisciplinaire où littérature et philosophie intimement s’entremêlent et dialoguent avec les sciences dites dures, s’est tout d’abord employé à définir la notion de mythe comme type de récit littéraire illustrant une prise de position quant à une question métaphysique et a révélé le récit ovidien de Pygmalion comme un mythe génésiaque au cœur duquel se trouve l’homme. Cheminant du XVIIIe au XXe siècle au fil de l’histoire des idées européennes, il s’est ensuite arrêté sur les différentes productions littéraires allemandes, françaises et italiennes réinvestissant le mythe à la lumière de la problématique dégagée du texte mère : celle de l’ampleur du pouvoir créateur de l’homme, afin d’en extraire les caractéristiques communes. Dans leur traitement de l’eros et de l’art, ces dernières posent un rapport à autrui et au monde orienté vers une dynamique de création se réalisant à travers un processus analogue, reposant sur les représentations ainsi que l’implication et les dispositions mentales et personnelles du sujet, l’extase, la volonté et la foi. Forts de leurs enseignements et de ce constat, il s’est à son tour emparé de cette question à travers l’élaboration d’un mythologisme anthroposophique convoquant des découvertes ayant eu lieu au XXIe siècle dans le domaine des neurosciences, de la physiologie, de la sémiostylistique, de l’éthique et de l’esthétique. Ce système de pensée, dans une quête de compréhension de ce processus créatif, a mené à la redéfinition d’un Homme alors compris comme essentiellement mû par un instinct représentationnel, un mouvement plasmateur, évoluant entre Créativité, Plaisir et Beauté, à travers l’exercice duquel il réalise sa Liberté. ; This hermeneutic interdisciplinary work, where literature and philosophy are tightly intertwined and converse with the so-called hard sciences, first proceeds to define the notion of myth as a literary type of story that illustrates a stance on a metaphysical question. It reveals Ovid’s story of Pygmalion as a genesiac myth in which mankind is at the heart. Progressing from the XVIIIe to the XXe century along the history of European ideas, it then halts at the French, German and Italian literary works that revisit the myth, in light of the question drawn from the source text – that of the extent of Man’s creative power – in order to extract the common characteristics. In their study of Art and Eros, they present a relationship to the world and to the others that is directed toward a dynamic of creation that is realized through a similar process based on the representations along with the mental and personal implication and dispositions of the subject, ecstasy, will and faith. In turn, drawing on their lessons and this observation, this work eventually answers this question by elaborating an anthroposophical mythologism that call upon XXIe century discoveries in neurosciences, physiology, semiostylistic, esthetic and ethic. This system, in its quest of understanding this creative process, has led to the redefinition of a Man essentially led by a representational instinct, a creative gesture, moving from Creativity, to Pleasure and Beauty, by which he achieves his Freedom.

    Ce travail a pour finalité de définir exactement ce que représentent les vocables Wanderschaft et Wanderung dans la littérature non fictionnelle de langue allemande entre 1770 et 1850. Ces deux concepts désignent tout voyage effectué majoritairement à pied pour diverses motivations, mais peuvent aussi prendre des sens métaphoriques, essentiellement religieux. Par l’analyse aussi bien synchronique que diachronique du réseau lexical, ainsi qu’à l’aide d’une approche pluridisciplinaire de divers types de documents intégrant littérature, linguistique, théologie, historiographie, arts visuels, musique et journalisme, il a été possible d’établir non seulement la polysémie des deux mots, mais aussi quelles fonctions ces termes recouvrent, en les replaçant dans leur contexte global. La préférence a été donnée à l’écriture non fictionnelle (relations viatiques, guides, correspondance, ouvrages pédagogiques). Les auteurs des récits de voyages pédestres sont originaires de deux couches distinctes de la société de cette époque : d’une part, l’élite cultivée (un groupe composite en train de se développer, majoritairement originaire de la bourgeoisie aisée), et de l’autre, les Compagnons, oscillant suivant les cas entre la moyenne bourgeoisie et le prolétariat, soudain revalorisés socialement par la publication de leur carnet de voyage. Tous sont originaires des pays de langue allemande, y compris les parties germanophones du royaume du Danemark et de la Suisse. L’évolution de l’emploi et des fonctions de ces deux vocables, ainsi que de leur champ associatif, reflète celle des structures sociales, économiques et culturelles entre 1770 et 1850. Parallèlement, la réduction et la virtualisation du voyage pédestre, amorcées dans les parcs à l’anglaise aristocratiques, se poursuivent dans les panoramas urbains, les pièces ou le jardin des demeures, ainsi que dans les jeux de société. Enfin, l’analyse est complétée par l’examen de la réception des deux notions dans les journaux, périodiques et almanachs, ainsi que dans la littérature didactique pour la jeunesse, les chansons populaires et les arts visuels. ; The ultimate goal of this work is to clarify the precise definitions of Wanderschaft and Wanderung in non-fictional writing in the German language between 1770 and 1850. Those two concepts refer to any journey, mainly done on foot, undertaken for a variety of motives, but they can also take on a metaphorical sense, primarily religious. By use of both synchronic and diachronic analysis of the lexical network, as well as with the help of a multidisciplinary approach to a variety of documents, integrating literature, linguistics, theology, historical texts, visual arts, music and journalism, it has been possible to establish, not only the polysemy of the two words, but also which functions these terms cover, by putting them into their global context. Preference has been given to non-fictional writing (accounts by travellers, correspondence, educational works). The authors of accounts of travels on foot in this period come from two distinct social classes: on one hand, the cultural elite (a composite group, just coming into being and originating mainly from the affluent bourgeoisie) and on the other hand, the Companions, ranging in different cases from the middle to the working class, suddenly given social validation by the publication of their travel notes. They all come from German-speaking countries, including parts of the Kingdom of Denmark as well as of Switzerland. The evolution of the use and functions of those two words, as well as their associative fields, mirrors that of the social, economic and cultural structures between 1770 and 1850. At the same tine,the scaling down and virtualisation of the pedestrian journey, initiated in aristocratic English-style parks, continue in urban panoramas, the rooms or the garden of grand houses, as well as in society's games. Finally, the analysis is completed by examining how the two notions are dealt with in newspapers, periodicals and almanacs, as well as in didactic literature for young people, popular songs and the visual arts.
