    For the learners of Portuguese and German as foreign languages the subjunctive mood represents a learning problem. Based on syntactic and pragmatic categories, the subjunctive is classified in a way that describes its use and permits the comparison between the Portuguese subjuntivo and the German Konjunktiv. Für Lernende des Portugiesischen bzw. des Deutschen als Fremdsprache stellt der Konjunktiv eine Lernschwierigkeit dar. Ausgehend von syntaktischen und pragmatischen Kategorien wird hier versucht, eine Klassifikation des Konjunktivs durchzuführen, die seinen Gebrauch beschreibt und einen Vergleich des portugiesischen subjuntivo mit dem deutschen Konjunktiv ermöglicht.

    This paper deals with selected semantic, morphological and syntactic characteristics of Yiddish modal verbs, compared to their cognates in German and other Germanic language. In particular, it focuses on the modal ker, the subjunctive zoln and the conditional with volt. The synchronic description is completed by diachronic observations which refer to the Middle High German basis of Yiddish. Este artigo apresenta algumas características semânticas, morfológicas e sintáticas dos verbos modais em ídiche, comparando-os com os seus cognatos em alemão e outras línguas germanicas. Em particular, são focalizados o verbo modal ker, o subjuntivo com zoln e o condicional com volt. A descrição sincrônica é completada com observações diacrónicas, considerando especialmente o médio alto alemão como base do ídiche.

    This article will discuss the influence of bilingualism (German dialect and Portuguese) in the learning of German as a foreign language by students of German ancestry in Rio Grande do Sul, South Brazil, on the basis of examples of language production. O artigo pretende chamar a atenção para a existência de uma forma específica do bilingüismo no Rio Grande do Sul: alemão (dialetal) e português. Assim, abordará as conseqüências lingüísticas da imigração alemã e, com isso, a influência do alemão dialetal e do português no processo de aprendizagem da lingua alemã padrão respectivamente estrangeira por estudantes teuto-brasileiros numa universidade.

    From the very beginning literary discourse plays a decisive role in the context of colonial discourse of power. Even Anna Seghers, a progressive socialist authoress with a fixation on the Enlightenment, the French Revolution and the Jewish-Christian tradition is unable to detach herself from the European claim on universality. In a tensely opposed relationship of projection and otherness, of "memoria" and intertextuality, Heiner Müller, however, understands literature in the sense of Emanuel Lévina's respect for the other being as a work on difference. Vom Anfang an spielt im kolonialen Machtdiskurs der Literaturdiskurs eine entscheidende Rolle. Auch Anna Seghers als fortschrittliche, sozialistische Autorin kann sich mit ihrer Fixierung auf Aufklärung, Französische Revolution und jüdisch-christliche Tradition nicht vom europäischen Universalismus-Anspruch lösen. In einem Spannungsverhältnis von Projektion und Alterität, von Memoria und Intertextualität versteht Heiner Müller dagegen Literatur im Sinne von Emanuel Lévinas' Achtung des Anderen als Arbeit an der Differenz.

It gives suggestions on how to build a corpus and shows the application of Corpus Linguistics in different areas of linguistic research. Dieser Aufsatz präsentiert einen Überblick über die Korpuslinguistik und stellt einige Untersuchungsmöglichkeiten mit Korpora dar. Er gibt Ratschläge zum Aufbau eines Korpus und berichtet über die Verwendung der Korpuslinguistik in verschiedenen Bereichen der linguistischen Forschung.
