    Komiksy tvoří jedineĉný textový druh. Děj je vyprávěn pomocí na sebe navazujících obrazových sekvencí, postavy promlouvají přímou řeĉí. Jedná se však o psanou podobu jazyka, která je odkázána především na verbální komunikaĉní prostředky. Příspěvek se zabývá otázkou, jaké prostředky volí autor komiksu k vyjádření emocí. Podrobněji jsou popisovány prostředky verbální, pozornost je však věnována také grafickému znázornění postav, uţití barev a symbolŧ. Comics constitute a unique text type. The story is narrated through a series of consecutive picture sequences, and the characters communicate via direct speech. Nevertheless, comics use the written form of language, which relies primarily on verbal communicative means. The paper examines what means are employed by the author of the comic for the purpose of expressing emotions. A more detailed description is devoted to the verbal means; attention is also paid to the graphic depiction of characters and the use of colours and symbols.

    Zentrum und Peripherie wurde zum leitenden Thema der gleichnamigen Konferenz, die vom 25. bis 27. Mai 2016 an der Schlesischen Universität Opava stattfand. Die Tagung, an der beinahe 90 Fachleute aus 9 Ländern teilnahmen, wurde vom Germanistenverband der Tschechischen Republik und der Germanistischen Abteilung des Instituts für Fremdsprachen der Schlesischen Universität Opava organisiert. Die Tagung verfolgte das Ziel, Zentrum und Peripherie in unterschiedlichen Bereichen zu untersuchen und einen Überblick über neue Methoden und Erkenntnisse im Bereich der sprachwissenschaftlichen, literarischen und didaktischen Forschungen in fünf Sektionen zu bieten: Die deutsche Sprache: Zentrum und Peripherie; Korpuserstellung und -analyse; Literatur interkulturell vs. transkulturell; Kanon und Norm in Literatur und Literaturdidaktik; Fehler und ihre Behandlung, und stellte eine Vielzahl an Fragestellungen und eine Vielzahl an Ansätzen vor. Zentrum und Peripherie (Centre and Periphery) was the main topic of the conference with the same title that was held from 25th to 27th May 2016 at Silesian University in Opava. The gathering of almost 90 experts from nine countries was organized by the Association for German Studies in the Czech Republic together with the Department of German Studies at Silesian University in Opava. The main objective of the conference was to investigate the centre and the periphery of the language from various points of view and provide an overview of new methods and findings in the field of linguistic, literary and didactic research. Within the individual contributions, many questions were posed and many different approaches presented in relation to the given issues, all of which took place in five sections: Centre and Periphery of the German Language, Creation and Analysis of a Language Corpus, Literature Approached Interculturally vs. Transculturally, Canon and Norm in Literature and Didactics of Literature, Error and How to Deal with It.

    Die Publikation Lexikalische Ausdrucksmittel der Emotionalität im Deutschen und im Tschechischen entstand im Rahmen des von der Forschungsagentur der Tschechischen Republik (GA ČR) geförderten Projektes Ausdrucksmittel der Emotionalität im deutsch-tschechischen Sprachvergleich. An diesem Projekt haben Germanist(inn)en und Bohemist(inn)en der Universität Ostrava, der Masaryk-Universität in Brno und der Jan-Evangelista-Purkyně-Universität in Ústí nad Labem vier Jahre lang zusammen gearbeitet, wobei die besprochene Publikation nur einen Teil der Forschungsergebnisse vorstellt.

    The article analyses three texts which address the same subject (the definition of the word Wort) and aims to demonstrate that it is not only the topic that plays a crucial role in creating the macrostructure and microstructure of a text, but also the communicative situation. The article explores what differences there are in the selection of linguistic means when the same content is being expressed in texts intended for communication at various levels of specialization, and which communication strategies the authors of the texts choose in connection with the text's genre, their intentions and (above all) the communicative situation.

    Due to its specific features, the German participle has numerous functions and uses in word-formation. As partially deverbalized adjectives, participles take on the syntactic role of an adjective while at the same time retaining the valency of a verb. The paper presents the various steps in an analysis using graded (partial) corpora. Drawing on research into the properties and functions of various participle forms, it explores their specific uses in texts.
