BeschreibungThe Department of Germanic Studies offers a two-year Ellis Scholar Fellowship for a graduate student working in the period of 1400-1700.

The Ellis Scholar will receive a fellowship of a minimum of $15,000 for the first year of graduate studies (including health insurance, and a 30-credit-hour fee scholarship), followed by three years of departmental student academic appointments, and finally a second Ellis Scholar Fellowship of a minimum of $ 15,000 in the student's fifth year to complete the dissertation.

The Department of Germanic Studies offers a rich program in Medieval and Early Modern Studies. Students will also work closely with scholars (and artists) in many related fields and have the opportunity to participate in events sponsored by the Medieval Studies Institute and Renaissance Studies.
