The Department of International Studies at Texas A&M University announces an entry-level assistant professor tenure-track position in the areas of German and Transnational/Global Studies, broadly defined. Candidates from fields across the Liberal Arts are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be prepared to teach in the larger field of German studies, as defined by area of expertise, and in the interdisciplinary International Studies degree program that combines humanities-based research with the social sciences. We are particularly interested in candidates who engage in contemporary and historical approaches to migrants and migration to and from Germany, colonization, and transnational cultural production, and with demonstrated commitment to cross-border, comparative, and interdisciplinary research and teaching. Scholarly research and publication record should be appropriate to a research-oriented department and university. PhD required by date of appointment. The department is home to International Studies majors; Modern Language majors and minors; and Classics majors and minors.
