The Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages at the University of Connecticut, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, solicits applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in German Studies to participate actively in a vibrant, large and innovative undergraduate and graduate German Studies program.
Minimum Qualifications: Native or near-native German proficiency. All requirements for a PhD in German completed by August 23, 2015. Expertise in 19th through 21st–century German Studies, with documented excellence in teaching German literature, culture and language courses. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications: German film; German culture; German for the professions (engineering, business); upper-division courses (English and German). An interdisciplinary approach to research and/or teaching is desirable; as well as the ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience.
Appointment Terms: This is a full-time, nine-month position with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2015. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Teaching load: 3-3, with some administrative responsibilities. This position is at the main campus in Storrs, CT.
