|Beschreibung||The German Program at Michigan State University invites applications for the position of Max Kade Distinguished Visiting Professor.
Candidates must have the Ph.D. with specialization in any area of German Studies, with preference given to those with interdisciplinary research and teaching interests. Candidates must be employed full time at a German university or a university in a German-speaking country, with significant relevant publications in German culture, literature or linguistics; teaching experience, and English language skills.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach two courses for the German Program in the Department of Linguistics and Germanic, Slavic, Asian and African Languages (in German) during the Spring 2015 semester, including one advanced undergraduate course and one graduate seminar; in addition, she or he will participate in the program's Graduate Colloquium on a specialized topic and will offer a public lecture for the wider University community. Our semester runs from early January through the end of April; however, precise dates in residence may be flexible in order to accommodate the differences between European and American academic calendars.
