BeschreibungThis is a call for papers for the following three sessions sponsored by the MLA Division German Literature to 1700 at the 2015 Convention:

1. "The Pre-Modern German Literary Canon as a Place of Memory (lieu de memoire, Erinnerungsort)."
Seeking papers addressing the construction of the pre-modern canon in its relation to cultures of memory.
To submit send a 300-500 word abstract and c.v. by March 1, 2014, to Niklaus Largier, nlargier@berkeley.edu.

2. "Iconophilia, Iconophobia: Images in German Manuscript and Book Culture"
Seeking papers addressing the status of images and the discourses that surround, question, and defend their use.

3. "Memory of Arthur on the Continent"
Adaptation and appropriation of Arthurian materials in France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Dutch, German, Yiddish.
