ECLA of Bard, a Liberal Arts University in Berlin, is seeking an instructor with expertise in medieval literature, theology or history, to contribute to the teaching of a core course for the spring semester 2013 (28 January-24 May). The topic of the course is 'Forms of Love,' and it is dedicated to the exploration of debates concerning the category of love in medieval European Christianity, with reference to dialogues with and divergences from Islam and Judaism. The course will have four meetings per week, each of 90 minutes. The instructor will lead a seminar group and contribute six lectures to the course, the equivalent of two 'Lehraufträge'. Candidates with a PhD qualification are preferred. A CV and letter of application, detailing research interests, teaching experience and possible contributions to the syllabus of the course should be sent by email to Catherine Toal (C.Toal@ecla.de) by November 15, 2012. The application should also include the names and contact details of two referees.
