The Department of Germanic, Slavic & East Asian Studies (GSEA) is seeking an Assistant Professor of German for a two-year limited term appointment to begin August 15th, 2012. GSEA is a multi-disciplinary department with a reputation for innovative approaches to post-secondary education. It is committed to the teaching of German within a broad cultural and intellectual context. The successful candidate will have a dynamic research program and will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate programs. Evidence of ability to collaborate with colleagues and to contribute to cross- and inter-disciplinary initiatives is essential. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in pre-20th century German literature and/or cultural studies. The successful candidate will have a PhD at or near completion and a native or near-native command of German.

Consideration of applications will begin June 10, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.
