The Thirty-Sixth Annual Conference will take place October 4-7, 2012, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Society for Emblem Studies is soliciting entire panels and or individual papers on topics of German emblematics. The papers can be in English or German, maximum length of twenty minutes. All aspects of emblems, including modern manifestations, are welcome.

Please send an abstract (max. 250 words) and a brief CV that includes your institutional affiliation by March 1, 2012 to Mara R. Wade,

The Society for Emblem Studies is extending its reach by sponsoring sessions at a number of venues in the coming year and encourages you to submit a panel or an individual paper for the GSA, RSA, and SCSC in the US. If you would like to organize a session at a conference you normally attend, please contact Mara Wade ( or one of the Society’s officers to receive approval for Society sponsorship.
