|Titel||Graduiertenstipendien an der Indiana University|
|Beschreibung||The Department of Germanic Studies at Indiana University has emerged in recent years as one of the strongest in the country, with a large and internationally recognized faculty working in a wide range of fields, spanning modern literature and culture, medieval studies, philology, and theoretical linguistics. Last year's survey of graduate programs by the National Research Council, the most detailed in decades, placed our program among the top few in the U.S.
Graduate students join us from all over the world and are drawn from the top pool of applicants. We offer a flexible yet demanding program of study, which includes thorough pedagogical training. Our placement record speaks for itself: Every one of our graduates in the last decade who has sought an academic position has secured one, often upon completion, though always within three years.
Applicants are eligible for competitive graduate fellowships, offering up to six years of full support in a mix of stipends and instructorships. Most fees and health insurance are covered. In addition, there is funding for conference travel, summer research, other projects, as well as multiple opportunities to study in German-speaking Europe.
For more information about the program, please visit our website (http://www.indiana.edu/~germanic/graduate/) or contact the director of the Institute of German Studies, Michel Chaouli (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the Director of Graduate Studies, Fritz Breithaupt (email@example.com). The preferred deadline for applications is January 15, 2012 (Dec. 1, 2011, for international students). Late applications, though at a disadvantage, can be considered.
